THe age could be seen on this wine. In the nose it starts out with s fruity hint of prune and brown starting in the colors. Tannins 7/10. Starts as what you might think is a fruitier American cab but quickly reverts to classic French. Smooth strong finish.

Strong tannins at 8.5 - a dirty cellar nose. Needs to lie down.

Strong tannins at 8.5 - better for me than the 2012. A light fruity start (just a hint) that never moves from the hint it starts with.

Dark ruby red with a light fruit hint on the nose. Strong 8/10 tannins. Lots of minerality like the Phelan Segur.

Still dark red. Classic french and balanced and integrated. A concentrated dark cocoa in the finish.

Good strong tannins 7.5/10. Not fruity but also not metallic. By comparison all balanced and velvety. Very similar to the 2005.

This is doing very well now and as noted with the 2012 I preferred the Pontet-Canets to the Lynch.
Hints of dust and prunes in the nose with a smooth, heavy bodied and strong tannins (8/10)
Less acidity than the Lynch with balance and fruit.

Overall I preferred the Pontet-Canets to Lynch which surprised me. More body than the Lynch and light fruit nose with hints of dust and prune. Smooth and strong tannins 8/10.

Seems a little closed at the moment. Very similar to the 2012 but a hint of cassis in the finish.
Nice strong tannins at 7.5/10
Maybe closer to 93

Strong tannins 8/10. Yet a clinical chlorine/new plastic hint. Concerned where that maybe going?

Darker than the Guirard. Peach and pear on the nose. Not cloying and smooth and richer with balanced acidity.

I know this is a significant change to my prior year rating. Maybe I am being harsher in my ratings. Light yellow with a light nose and palate. Hint of Mellon

Fruity, enticing and refreshing. A light bitter finish with minerality which started to grow on me over time.

2012 Château Haut-Bailly 87 Points
France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
More depth in the nose than the Malartic. Light dark dust and dryer than the Malartic's too. Bright dark ruby red with a very dark, bitter, cocao finish. Not too my liking.
