  • 2012 Reguengo de Melgaço Alvarinho Moncão 87 Points

    Portugal, Minho, Vinho Verde

    Expressive bouquet with grasses, flowers, citrus and apple. On the palate white fruits, grasses and candy flavors, good tart lime. Good concentration and very clean.

    Golden yellow. In the bouquet honey, butter candy, polishing wax and litchi. On the palate an enormous concentration, litchi and honey again. Very tasty wine.

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

    Mature bouquet with cassis, pleasant vanilla and a touch of barnyard which blows off. On the palate dark forest fruits, some chocolate, good acidity, round and softened tannin and a good concentration. At its peak now and it will stay there for another year or two.

    Beautiful bouquet with ripe red and dark forest fruits. On the palate ripe fruits, a lot of sweet spices, some chocolate, beautiful acidity and soft tannin. A beautiful wine; ready now and the next few years.

    Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero

    Beautiful bouquet with black fruits cocoa, leather and tobacco. On the palate red and dark forest fruits and cherries, chocolate, sweet spices and a firm dose of ok oak. Soft and round tannin. The alcohol shows a bit. The wine will improve with a few more years of ageing. Around 2017+? 88+ for today.

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Puisseguin-St. Émilion

    Bouquet with red and dark fruits, sweet spices and some smoke. On the palate juicy red and dark berry fruits, ok acidity, supple and round tannin. Really nice wine, although not really exclusive, but a very good qpr. 86 - 87 and some future as well.

    Red and dark berry fruits in the bouquet, some chocolate as well. Same on the palate. Sweet spices, ok acidity, round and soft tannin and a good concentration. Although not really exclusive, this is a very nice and correct wine. Ready now and the next two years or so.
