Introduction
We get 10 wines in 10 glasses. All wines of a different varietal or blend and from a different location. We have to tell in approx 1 hour where the wine is produced and of which varietal or traditional blend, the vintage and as many details as we can give. For big ego’s this is the ultimate way to land with both feet on the ground and become humble again ;-) ;-)!

Cherry yoghurt, some spiciness, some candy flavors, ok acidity and tannin with some bite. Like 13 in a dozen.

2012 Maison Philippe Viallet Vin de Savoie Montueux Tradition 82 Points

Transparent light red. The bouquet has some earthy impressions and white pepper. On the palate red fruits, a lot of acidity, vegetal impressions and sticky tannin.

2012 Meyer-Näkel Spätburgunder Blauschiefer

The bouquet is not very expressive at first, but with more air there are smoke and minerals. On the palate red fruits, firm bitterness and firm acidity in the finish. In this stage I am not a fan. Maybe with some more age on it?? No score for tonight.

Slightly perfumed bouquet. Same on the palate, red berry fruits, cherries, vanilla. Firm acidity, but in a pleasant way. Good length. Can use a few years of ageing. 87+

2012 Pascual Toso Malbec Selected Vines Barrancas Vineyards 90 Points

Deep dark purple; almost black. Enormously concentrated bouquet with black forest fruits, leather and rubber. Same on the palate plus a lot of sweetness and ok acidity. In this stage the wine seems to be a bit over extracted with too much of everything. I would like to taste this again around 2018 or later to see what has happened. Scored it 90 because of the effort and extraction.

Beautiful bouquet with red and dark forest fruits, cassis and beautiful oak. Same on the palate. Good freshness. An elegant, refined, complex and typical 2001 Bordeaux. Ready now and until 2017+.

See my previous note as well. Now in the bouquet more green impressions. On the palate red and dark berry fruits and a concentrated wine with a lot of oak. Juicy wine with some sweetness but also good acidity. The tannin is good and firm. Wait a few years.

Just a few notes. Beautiful bouquet with some sweet notes and some spiciness, Not the garrigue I am used to from Pegau, but certainly beautiful and still youthful considering the age of the wine. Same on the palate. Beautiful sweet fruits, length and mature but still young as well. Beautiful wine.

2004 Bodega Numanthia Toro Numanthia 93 Points

Luxurious bouquet with cassis, smoke and beautiful oak. On the palate rich and concentrated, dark forest fruits, a lot of sweetness, good acidity, chocolate and beautiful oak again. Soft but still powerful tannin. Early maturity now and can last probably another decade.
