Pretty good night :-) Hosted by myself for the wine club/geeks.
Young, fresh and pure cherry fruit. Nice and delicate wine with good intensity.
Vibrant acidity.

Limited Edition, Bottle #76 of 133, from a special cask made for their anniversary.
Complex flavors with lots of depth and dark cherry / blackberry fruit. Some minerals coming through.
A solid and good wine.

Strong tannic structure and dense and prune-like dark fruit.
Quite developed compared to its age. Very dry. Not very impressed.

Dark plum-like fruit. Merlot like fruit sweetness and character. Powerful acidity.
Overall a dense wine but nothing really like Brunello. Still nice to drink.

Cool and refreshing black currant fruit with a lovely balance. Has a nice touch of saltiness to it, almost like soy, but not in a bad way.
Very impressive!

Great flavors and super fresh and very nice to drink.
Plenty of fruit and lovely acidic balance. Almost a wild wine!
Still very clean and pure (minerals and stone).

Lovely wine packed with plum fruit. Certainly mature but in a very good way!

Some very nice oxidization but also plenty of red apples and dried figs.
Pure and clean flavors with just a touch of sherry.
Love this style!

Compact black currant fruit with lots of flavor depth. Some oak coming through with some coffee and toast but also a huge acidity.
Very young but also plenty of things to love. Will only continue to improve.

Still lots of delicate cherry fruit left. Sharp and clean acidity. Just a very lovely wine that has developed nicely.
Mature wine but still lots of freshness.

Still very fresh and vibrant. Clean, pure and delicate sweet cherry fruit. Still plenty of fruit left however.
A beautiful wine that keeps impressing me.

Deep dense dark cherry fruit with some development. But in a very good way.
It is very fresh and has an impressive intensity. Tannin structure is amazing and it is a wonderful wine!

Sweet red apple fruit with lots of developed complexity.
Butter, biscuits, marzipan, coffee and chocolate.
Nicely balanced by a sharp acidity. Lovely wine!

How to commit to a wine like this. It is extremely dark, extremely intense, extremely sweet, extremely acidic.
Actually a great wine but so wild that it is almost insane to taste something like this.
Still in serious doubt if I really liked it? Crazy stuff...

Lovely and rich nose filled with plenty of sweet apple fruit, smoke and hazelnuts.
The palate is equally impressive with lot of red and yellow sweet apple flavor with a touch of hazelnut and vanilla.
Plenty of oak and sweetness but very true to the house style. A great wine.
Consistent with previous note!

2004 Les Crêtes Valle d'Aosta Cuvée Bois 90 Points
Italy, Valle d'Aosta
A bit odd as it was quite oxidized but still very tasty and structured. It doesn't appear as if the oxidization is part of what the wine is supposed to be.
However, it did actually didn't feel defective and tasted blind it could easily just have been part of the wine profile.
Plenty of sherry notes with salt but also a pure and very clean delicate fruit.

2004 Sesti (Castello di Argiano) Brunello di Montalcino 91 Points
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Very drinkable but the fruit has certainly matured. The structure is still very nice and feels young.
Quite enjoyable but difficult to determine its longevity.
So far, it was better in its immediate youth.

2004 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino 91 Points
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Somewhat prune-like fruit with some depth. The fruit is quite dark and could perhaps improve with more age.
Still a very nice bottle that was nice to taste.
