Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Dinner

A lovely dinner hosted by Daniel & Florence Cathiard.

The 2007 (En Magnum) was fully mature and beautiful.

  Very dry and crisp with notes of grapefruit, wax, and citrus. Best with Oysters.

  Still young with notes of mellon, grapefruit and wax. Lovely balanced palate.

  Rich nose of wax, mellon, white flowers and honey. Complex mouth coating palate. Lovely.

The 2005 blew us aware with its complexity and vibrancy.

  Nose of prunes, damsons, tobacco, spice and cherry. Fully mature and lovely.

  Fully mature with classic claret notes of old leather, spice, tobacco, tar and earth. Very similar to the Domaine de Chevalier of this age. Lovely.

  It has got better since my previous note. Still young but fully open. Absolutely lovely. A classic.
