Bright yellow with density to color; light lemon, sour apple, pie crust, good depth, a bit of age, fairly neutral; medium plus body, slight lime on the finish, bitter pith; oak and milky qualities become evident after reveal, could have gotten there.
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
See through crimson core with pale rim; sexy rose, lighter cherry, sandalwood, penetrating; oak tannin on the palate, young, in an intermediate stage, almost medicinal cherry, herbs and cedar on the finish; seems like young Barolo with its Burgundian intensity, very pretty.
Opaque core with reddish violet rim; green pepper, black currant, vanillin oak, new Italian French varietal; softer tannin, nice balance; tasty, others thought too modern.
Darker garnet core, dull ruby rim; luxurious oak, hint of green, lots of ripe and plump dark cherry, some charred oak, modern; palate is ripe, candied, higher alcohol, vanilla; too much ripeness for acid; called '09 Sonoma Coast.
Semi-translucent reddish violet with ruby rim; fresh nose, floral- dark and red, aftershave which is bizarre, interesting nose, fresh dark berries, sulfur, dusty, Grenache, raspberry, crunchy, firm tannin in back, garrigue, loads of character; needs time.
Dark core with plum rim; Syrah, granite, plum, some sulfur, young; nice acid, depth is not super rich, accessible but needs a few more years, nice structure; very tasty; was on 2010 Cornas.
