Six of us got together for a civilized lunch. Chef Ruta prepared a nice tasting menu that complemented the wines really well. As usual, the service was exceptional The lunch lasted over four hours.
This was one of the best Selosses.
I was hoping for a nice mini vertical. Unfortunately the MdT didn't want to play.
We moved to the rooftop and enjoyed the stickies. It was an absolutely gorgeous day.
Another wonderful gathering to share excellent wines with the great friends!
NV Jacques Selosse Champagne Grand Cru Lieux-dits Extra Brut Ambonnay Le Bout du Clos 96 Points

Perfectly mature nose displaying sweet yellow fruits and a hint of delicate red, apple cider, orange peel, biscotti, macadamia and sweet spices. Nicely balanced palate, sweet and nutty palate impression, medium mousse and nice long finish that starts sweet and ends dry. It nicely displays the house style, ie a bit nutty and oxidative yet precise and fresh. As a reference, I generally prefer Initial to Substance and this combines the complexity of Substance and the freshness of Initial. Really delicious.
