Metallic and tenacious in the beginning. Quite a full bodied quince taste, rather sweet, cannot believe that the dosage it at only 5g/l. Lots of honeycomb and bee aromas. Good in its own right.
Quite metallic and spritzy. Also quite lean and with very high lemony accidity. Other L'Ermitages I have had before were more full bodied, this was surprising.
Bottle was seeping and had oxidised a bit. No bubbles left, so it was interesting to look at it as on a dessert wine. Indeed semi-dry with pronounced notes of apricot and dried peaches. Relatively low accidity, rather full bodied. Quite nice for what it is, but not a showstopper.
Fresh and excellent, better than the bottle I had 6m ago, post disgorgement aging is making it more balanced. Overripe apricot, blueberries in milk, round and pleasant. Really outstanding wine.
Initially metallic and milky as well as grapefruits on the nose and palate. Relatively lean. Give it time to open up - develops nettle and herbal meadow aromas. Nice one.

Soft creamy, most enticing nose of white flowers and marshallow. So lovelely and dancing on the palate. This is the real thing.

Lots of rye bread and yeast. Somewhat vegetably-dirty, especially compared to the elegant BdB of the same vintage side by side.

Lovely fat fruits, juicy and friendly but with a certain class. Certainly not champagne, but not worse for it.

Just so tasty. Round, caramel and dusty fruits on the nose and palate. Pure pleasure and at top form. Excellent and best QPR you can find.

Stony mousseaux nose. Smoky peach and white fruits. Here the difference between this and Lanson '98 was miniscule.

1964 Marc Brédif Vouvray Pétillant Brut Flawed
France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray Pétillant
No puff, no bubbles. Sweet, honeycomb nose. Wine has lost the fruit, so alcohol is evident, has some pungency. Over the hill, decent only with food.

No puff, no bubbles, over the hill, but not defective. Overripe fruits and hints of vanilla on the nose. Taste better than the nose. Meh.

Disgorged Dec.2015, 5 g/l dosage. Chalky, very high accidity, lots of autolytic aromas. Needs more of post disgorgement time.

Very soft, round and soapy. Well made, but also somewhat unexciting.
