Lemon tart, strawberry and cherry with some brioche. The pinot richness shows through on the palate, with the medium-high acidity keeping things fresh and giving the wine a little tangy note that I quite like. Young with good punch and mouthfeel.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
Oak, lemon and straw on the still youthful nose. The palate is rich, with plenty of fruit power and it has good structure as well. Some additional time would probably work well here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
Floral, earthenware, autumn leaves, a light herbal note and a hint of brett around the edges. Quite full bodied and full with plenty of tannin working well with the bold fruit. Sweet and savoury fruit in good balance. Very nice.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Stalk, cherry, floral, earth, raspberry and ash on an already complex nose. Beautiful palate balance with great acid drive over the bright red fruits. Has good depth to it already. Liked this more with additional time in the glass, and it should develop really nicely.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Pepper, graphite, cherry and great high toned florals. Good spark from the acidity across its whole length. Good persistence and depth. Feels very clean and has the potential to age really well
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Pepper, cherry, graphite, iron and violets. Quite restrained fruit on the palate, shows some brightness from the acidity and good length. Quite likable without any elements feeling out of place.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Open nose of licorice, cherry, musky perfume and roses. Delicious on the palate, the fruit has depth and verve and it is all balanced wonderfully well. No doubt this is very young, but it is approachable and immensely enjoyable to drink.
AP #09, 375ml. Mandarin, mango, spice, lemon, sea spray minerality and orange. The palate has intense honeyed fruit with a luscious mouthfeel that is balanced well by a fairly high level of acidity. Great carry and interest. Special stuff.
