  • Just so pure as Rousseau always is - a treat just coming into maturity.

  • Blind. Morey characrter without much of the Rousseau blue fruit, decent alcohol level, somewhat cooler vintage, showing jammy red fruit and gamey earthiness with air. Could not bring myself to guess Rousseau, then again this is the least Rousseau vintage. Ponsot CDLR 2011? Almost there! 93

  • Bottle breathe for 1 hour, and double decant before serving. Similar note. The nose and palate kept changing, and the full "cherry blossom" around 1.5 hour after serving. The scene of Blowing scent of narcissus were exploding, and the palate is full body with candy, red fruit, wood and leather. Finishing with spice and long. Peak in 2-2.5 hours. Very nice to drink now

  • Slow oxed for an hour, pretty color - light red/pink, elegant & sophisticated perfumed nose of red cherries, sandalwood, 5-spice powder, silky finesse palate, not a powerhouse, still young, an evening of stellar wines including 08 Ch Rayas, 96 Ch Margaux & 01 Comte Vogue Musigny

  • An evening winning the wine 🍷 lottery: finding a mature Armand Rousseau Clos de la Roche at a restaurant & wine bar - at yesteryears price 😁
Enjoyed it in front of the fireplace at the bar. No decanting to enable following it. Deep red with beginning mature yellow brown coloration.
On the nose cherries, sandalwood, earthy notes and just heavenly perfume. On the palate it took 15-20 minutes in the glass to open, and then it developed over the following hours. Earthly notes, leather - super balance and velvety. Taking a sip with air makes it broaden its tannin and it expands like stepping on the pedal in the car. Outstanding experience.
