Nigl will never stop being one of my favorites, and this consistent with the previous. Strong acidic backbone, stone fruit, limestony/mineraly characteristics. The crowd was pleased.
This was the wildcard of the otherwise a germany and austria-dominated evening. Why so much vanilla? Tastes oaked to hell and oxidative. I won't come back to this.
A little perplexed by this, and mildly disappointed compared to a '99 Hochrain from a few weeks ago. Lots of chalk but sweeter than expected, with less acid balance than i'd expect. Decent showing but seemed somewhat tired compared to the rest of the lineup. Maybe mildly flawed or over the hill?
My first "old" Prum Auslese. Beautiful rustic golden color, nicely integrated acid and sweetness. Get lots of lush, juicy, pear and citrus fruit. Botrytis flavor very present. Loooong finish. Delicious! Drink now!
2012 Stein St. Aldegunder Palmberg-Terrassen Riesling Extreme Trocken 90 Points
Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
First pour of the night. Extreme trocken indeed. This should have been the summer sipper. I imagine this will fall apart with time, we'll see.

2013 Weingut Keller Riesling RR 92 Points
Germany, Rheinhessen
The winner of the evening, in my eyes. Honey first, lime second, and with a nice long finish of chalky/salty minerals. This bottle went the fastest.
I am excited to see how this wine grows up.
