Dundee Hills

A final winery visit and tasting prior to heading back home, and this was a very fine capstone to our trip. A beautiful contemporary tasting room situated on the picturesque Dundee Hills amongst great neighbors (Cameron, Arteberry Maresh, to a name a couple). The estate vineyard is now called Winderlea but is the former Goldshmidt vineyard which was planted in the early 1970s. The tasting room was staffed with a few folks so we received plenty of attention and Donna (one of the owners) spent time with us at the tail end of our visit. The winery was generous with the tasting, featuring several mini-verticals and horizontals to get a sense of the estate vineyards, recent vintages and Willamette Valley more broadly. Highly recommended.
2015 Winderlea Pinot Blanc Meredith Mitchell Vineyard 87 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, McMinnville
Winery tasting. A welcome glass as we sat on the deck overlooking the estate vineyard. Medium nose is clean and fresh with fresh cut apples, melons and mineral. Crisp and lively. Easy to enjoy.

2014 Winderlea Chardonnay 92 Points

Winery tasting. From three sites. The nose is full, bright and mineral-driven. Medium full body with bracing acidity. Baked apple and lemon curd. Great length. Upside from here.
