Mainly from Côte des Blancs Chardonnay, including Chouilly, Avize and Le Mesnil, with some 30% vin de réserve. Wonderful intensity and elegance, ripe fruit buffering the taut minerality, fresh and beautifully balanced, rounded off by judicious dosage, very good length.
Chartreuse colour (thank you Dredwardo); expressive and intense nose, good depth and complexity, seal wax evolution but no TDN, mature but with a lovely freshness, peach, lemon and flowers; silky palate, sweetness like a light Spätlese, beautiful balance and tension in spite if slightly low acidity, green apple phenolics, the fruit has a distinct tropical note to it (mango); persistent finish. Lovely wine, has aged well.
Inaugural vintage. A blend of 58% Cinsault, 21% Grenache, 21% Syrah. Lovely energy and transparency from the Cinsault basis, floral note from the stems (?), fresh and mineral, but with enough ripeness to arrive at a cocoa note, ripe and clean cherry fruit, very elegant, vibrant phenolics, good length.
Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
Deep but fresh, good definition, fresh and floral nose but with a distinct, spicy and porty note, velvety tannins, hint of warm evolution, good weight, juicy acidity, finishes with notes of cedar and eucalyptus, good length.
Wonderfully rich and tropical nose, vibrant and deep, honey, peach and maracuja, clean and pure, lovely Huxelrebe character; bright and juicy palate, sweet but lively, easily Auslese weight, floral lift (roses), tingling acidity, subtle bitters; very good aromatic persistence. A lovely wine, very successful at competitions (Gold medal at the Landesweinprämierung, Goldener Preis at the DLG-Bundesweinprämierung, Gold at AWC Vienna 2016) and for € 8.20 ex-cellars an absolute steal.
