All wines were tasted not blind.
Yellow fruits, litchi and some thyme as well in the bouquet. Fresh start with some candy, pear and new oak with soft bitterness in the finish. A mouth full. Clean wine with a long finish.

Expressive and intense bouquet with yellow fruits and luxurious oak. On the palate smoky, minerals like flint stone, bananas and quite much bitterness from the oak. Concentrated wine. Most of the crowd did not like this wine, but if you love the more expensive Northern Rhône wines, this is your wine. It will probably improve with another 3 - 5 years of ageing. The score is for now. 90++

Not really a very outspoken bouquet; hard to describe..minerals?...Flint stone...? A fresh start and immediately after that soft and creamy with some strawberry flavors. A bit fat and lacking some fresh acidity. Possibly it needs some more ageing. Something special alright, but I will not score the wine.

In the mature and quite complex bouquet dark fruits like cassis and plums. Autumn forest, menthol, eucalyptus, chocolate and coffee as well. Juicy dark fruits, but also immediately a bit drying tannin. Some graphite, good oak and a touch of sweetness. The wine is completely ready now.

Fresh and primary bouquet with dark cherries and some lactic impressions. In the mouth quite expressive and still a lot of tannin. Not a bad wine and maybe it needs a few more years of ageing, but for the moment it is a bit one dimensional.

The bouquet is a bit locked, but it has some earthy impressions, dark fruits and it holds a promise. On the palate a mouth full of dark (blueberry and blackberry), juicy fruits with also some earthy tones. Firm tannin and bitterness and all in a good balance. Excellent wine with a future of 3++ years.

In the bouquet earthy, autumn forest, dark fruits and a touch of menthol. In the mouth dark fruit juice, earthy tones as well, sweet licorice, some cinnamon. Good tannin and firm bitterness. Already quite ready to drink. Beautiful wine. Drink between now and 2015(?).

Attractive bouquet with black fruits, freshness and some chocolate. Juicy start with dark forest fruits like blackberries and blueberries, some earthy impressions and a beautiful balance between sweetness and acidity. The tannin is soft and round and offers a good bite. A very pleasant wine with good freshness and a little bit drying in the finish. Ready now but can last several years.

Still purple hues in the color. In the bouquet fresh fruits like dark cherries and blackberries and a touch of caramel. A mouth full of wine with juicy black fruits, brown spiced biscuit, some chocolate and earthy impressions. Full bodied, but also elegant and a long finish. Already pleasant, but will improve over the next 3 - 5 years and drink well several years after that.

Powerful bouquet with juicy dark forest fruits and licorice. Same on the palate; ripe dark berries and a touch of sweetness, but also very good and fresh acidity and tannin with a good bite. Probably better 5+ years from now, but already a pleasure.

There is some earth and sweetness. Compared to the French wines in this tasting this wine was much more easy going.

2009 Clos d'Albizzi Cassis Blanc 85 Points

Not a very expressive bouquet; some soft yellow fruits like bananas. Same fruits on the very mild palate. Not much acidity. Some bitterness in the finish. Ok wine though.

2008 Château Barbanau Cassis Cuvée Kalahari 87 Points
France, Provence, Cassis
1/3 Marsanne, 1/3 Clairette, 1/3 Sauvignon Blanc. The Marsanne is the most up front with yellow fruits; peach, banana and some pear in the bouquet as well as the taste. Small amount of fresh acidity and a good dose of oak. Long finish with a little bitterness. Ok wine now and I wonder how this will develop in 2 - 4 years.
