Not sure about how to rate this one. Opened two hours before serving. At first animal notes dominated that subsided with air to leave space for... not much. Perhaps this has to do with the other wines in the evening's lineup.

Carafé 2h. Belle matière avec une légère sucrosité bien contrebalancée par la salinité du terroir. Notes de prune confite, voire une peu cuite. A boire à mon avis.

Part of a Tempier tasting. Compared to 2013 Bandol rouge and 2008 Cabassaou the 08 Migoua showed far more "feminine" qualities I don't associate with Bandol. Yet there was plum, dark fruit, hint of animale, and impeccable balance and elegance. Decanted 6 hours. Not sure how it will age further.

Suggestion by the sommelier at Alliance, Paris. My first experience with this type of wine and a very pleasurable one. A nice bouquet with ripe stewed fruit and raisins. A medium-bodied dry wine with high acidity and integrated tannins. On the palate, the stewed sweet fruit is balanced by the acidity. Great elegance and souplesse for a wine with 15% alcohol. A long finish structured by tannins and alcohol. The wine is ready to drink. Enjoyed it greatly with a selection of cheeses. Good value money at 50 GBP retail.

This is a brilliant wine...the tannins have faded, the fruit has mellowed and is perfectly offset by a savage, herbaceous, infinitely complex and rustic edge. This was a primal experience with smoked duck breast.
