Light gold color. Drank 1+ glass over 30 minutes. This was elegant, crisp, lemon, lemon curd, mineral nose; delicate chalk, apple, apple skin, lemon cream, medium body on the palate. Very good again. 92+pts.
Light gold color. PNP, drank 1 + glass over an hour. A mix of fresh youthfulness and age creates an incredibly focused wine. The minerality is sublime, flint, fusil, wet stones, smoke, citrus and subtle clementine on a complex and powerful nose. The palate is focused and expansive with such elegance and finesse seldom seen in typical SB, seamless Of course, this is anything but typical. A masterful wine of immense beauty. Such a treat, a pristine bottle.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over an hour. Another splendid older Ampeau on back to back nights. Same bottle as minndavid60 and I wholeheartedly concur with his notes. Great texture, so oily and filled with meyer lemon, orange, toasted barrel, mineral, and earthiness. I hope my bottles are this good!
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Somewhat medium murky red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. Cherry, orange peel, big spice, baked cherry, deeply earthy with soil infused tannins, tart, tart cranberry, tart cherry, loam. Not quite as elegant as I had hoped but still good.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
Clear, bright medium ruby color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. Quite lovely really, red berries, lots of spicebox, red currant and cinnamon, lighter medium body, fine tannins. 91+ to 92pts.
Very dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. Very good, still some firmness to the tannins, earth, graphite, black currant, black cherry. 92+pts.
Deep gold color. PNP, from 375ml. Perhaps a bit more developed than the 750's I've had. Complex, but not as intense, apricot, orange, botrytis, honey, nice texture but more subdued than some.
Deep orange-amber color. PNP, from 375ml, drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. OMG, this was stunning. Incredible power both on the nose and palate. Tremendous viscosity and mouthfeel. Fantastic acidity to completely counter the sweetness and keep this lively. Great mix of fruits, tropical, orange, apricot, hints of maple and honey butter, orange blossoms. Complex is a bit of an understatement. Glorious, a truly memorable wine.
