Bertinoro (FC) - I
Tasted Monday, May 15, 2017 by quaglia with 272 views
We were hosted by Graziella Pezzi, daughter of famous revolutionary wine maker Mario Pezzi, for a giuded tour of their cellar and a vertical tasting of Vigna delle Lepri e Barbarossa
Sangiovese Cru
Barbarossa is a very rare variety, at this time only present at Fattoria Paradiso.
Barbarossa showed an incredible potentiality to age. But we tasted also a 2016: at the same time aromatic of blackcurrant and coffee, with a nice fruit at taste. Very interesting.
The best issue was the different evolution with time of Sangiovese and Barbarossa.
1996 Fattoria Paradiso Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva Superiore Vigna delle Lepri
Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Sangiovese di Romagna
Bright garnet red, with orange rim. Consistent, viscous.
Medium intensity at nose, but complex and fine: Dried mushrooms, black fruit jam, dried plums. Alcohol.
Dry, with a medium acidity and a vigorous tannin. Overall balanced, with a nice body still alive. Good minerality. Vegetal closing. ****
