Blind. Mint and toast, lemon, some funk and earth - gathers depth with air. Medium length, does stretch out well, there is a fair bit of roundness to the fruit, maybe a bit more structure would bring this up a level.

Blind. Melon, herbs and licorice, floral and earthy. Really well balanced palate, the is plenty of fruit but the acidity kicks in nicely, giving it a mineral lift. Texture helps give it dimension. Great stuff.

Tangerine, pithy lemon, slate, oats and orange - the most gets better and better with air. Great texture giving the wine mid palate definition. Excellent cut on the palate, balancing out the bright and expressive fruit. Great detail and poise. A superb bottle of this wine, totally fit and firing tonight.

Caramel, a little musty, some old oak. Palate still shows some fruit flavour, with some sweetness, though it dries out toward the finish. Drinkable but well past its best.

Blind. Apple and pear, honey and toast with some orange peel. Pretty classic Hunter Sem style. Plenty of acid through the length of the palate, refreshing in style. Good length, enough fruit weight and still rather primary, with plenty of time left.

Blind. Intense nose, ashy, meaty, tomato raspberry, earthy and turmeric spice - an engaging nose. Red fruits show on the palate, with a fairly high line of acidity as well. Moderate depth lets the wine down a bit, the complexity of the nose serving definitely not carrying through yet.

Blind. Vanilla, herbal and stemmy, redcurrant and blueberry with some tar as well. Very good palate presence with lovely depth to the fruit alongside a great sense of elegance. Really stylish wine.

Blind. Tobacco, plenty of smoky spices, roses and plenty of red fruit lift - the nose is intricate and at times elusive. Highly delicate on the palate, this shows excellent class and brilliant depth. Superb balance. The clear flight favourite before being revealed. This bottle was really hitting some high notes after a good but tight bottle I tried about 5 years ago.

Leather, savoury spice, raspberry, some cinnamon and redcurrant with a little VA as well. Highly savoury and spice driven on the palate, still shows some red fruit but this is taking on quite a nice profile with age. Feels like there is space for this to develop further.

Opened about 5 hours prior. Chocolate, blackcurrant, tobacco, lots of olive and raspberry with some pencil shavings as well - has good lift and aromatic freshness. Very good weight on the palate, there is still style and structure though. Fine tannins and lovely drive through the palate. A great balance with fruit depth and complexity showing through. Super stuff.

Menthol, chocolate, dusty earth and some pepper aromas. Quite rich and full on the palate, there is some baked fruit here that I don't mind alongside the more structured element. Still shows some youth, but I'm not sure how long I'd want to leave it, maybe another 5 years?

Opened up quickly after pouring. Some ash, meat, violets and earth - it is complex but the floral element gives it a pretty element as well. Nicely bright fruit on the palate, though it feels quite delicate overall. Red fruits shine through. Feels like classic Chave. Much better than an overly bretty bottle I tried about 5 years ago.

Smokey bacon, roses, toast, strawberry, olive and a mineral note throughout the nose. Still shows plenty of structure, the fruit is very youthful still as well, so it all fits well together. Great length and the potential to improve even further from here.

Cherry liqueur, violets, plum and some alcohol lift. Quite sweet and full on fruit profile, it isn't apologetic for its style, and it is quite easy to enjoy within its stylistic profile. Good, but not sure it has the structure to age in the medium term.

375ml. Caramel, coconut, vanilla, toast and lemon on the nose. Soft on the palate, with the sweetness quite pronounced. Shows good length, but not the freshness one would want to score this higher. This bottle was ready to drink.

375ml. Intoxicating nose - pineapple, coconut, apple, apricot and mandarin with some mango as well. Beautiful mix of freshness and sweetness with the acidity at just the right level to find balance. Superb length and lift. Cracking wine!

Coffee, clove, spice, cherry and some medicinal notes along with chocolate - a good mix on the nose, there is some spirit but it is well hidden. Nicely sweet on the palate, shows very good balance and length. It takes a very good Port for me to find a lot to personally like and I did with this!

Lime, slate, orange, pear, spice, apple and while it is bright and fresh, there is an undertone of richness throughout. Delicious and pure on the palate, with beautiful precision and drive. Great length. Have loved this on every occasion that I've been lucky enough to taste it.
