France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
From barrel. Bright red berry on nose and palate with good energy, great texture and Chambolle minerality. Good spice throughout, but most notably on finish. VG+ potential for its level.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
From neutral barrel, 1 of 4 barrels for the vintage, of which 1 is new. Slightly reductive with large scaled black, red and blue fruit underneath. Very powerful start, very elegant and textural finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Tasting from barrel. Black and red cherry aromas are forward and already accessible, slightly more austere flavors but alluring right now. Layers start emerging on finish where some Gevrey meaty hints faintly emerge as well. Long, big finish. Great potential here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru
From neutral barrel. ML almost done, also reductive today. Boxier, chewer than the others so far. Lots of structure, big bones here. Slows its clay soil clearly. Often the slowest of the lineup to show its full potential, I wouldn't be surprised if that holds true in 2014 again.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru
From neutral barrel. Ever-So-slightly reductive now. Floral with intense black and red cherry and roast game meat. Powerful, yet elegant in every way with excellent 92-95 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
From neutral barrel. Floral and perfumed start with black berries galore on nose. Black cherry and berry flavors with some red cherry and emerging spice. Density on expanding finish. 93-96 point potential.
