France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
The absolute best bottle so far from a case+ purchased several years ago. Ripe orchard fruit with excellent concentration, floral hints with subtle savory spice. Shockingly fresh for its age, I'd have thought it at least 5 years younger if served blind. Served alongside the 2012 vintage, both showing so much similarity, with obvious age differences.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Popped-and-poured. Starts out as both rich and ripe with plenty of apple, baked apple, some peach. Seems to get more unctuous and concentrated with time in glass, but never coming across as too ripe. So good now, clearly with upside going forward. Served alongside the 2001 vintage, both showing so much similarity, with obvious age differences.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Lots of black fruit with both sweet and savory spice. Good+ weight and length, very harmonious and balanced. This is the rare 1996 that has been drinking well for several years, and i think it is best to enjoy over the next 5 years.

1990 Fougeray de Beauclair Bonnes Mares 87 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Fully mature+ black fruit with sweet spice. Slightly drying finish. More acidity would have helped.
