Medium/deep garnet. Attractive pure red fruit, showing nice purity and line, fine tannins, balanced acidity, decent length. Not overly complex or exciting but very drinkable. ***1/2

Medium/deep garnet. Note seems a little mute, ripe fruit, oak, lacking aromatic lift. Ripe plummy fruit on the palate which is quite broad and rich but seems to lack a bit of depth and drive and tails away on the finish, which is a tad drying. Not really for me **.

Quite a deep, relatively dark-fruited nose, quite rich but with some slightly lactic tones. Better on the palate, reasonable richness, soft tannins with some Graves earth on the finish. ***

Fragrant, red fruited, hints of tobacco and earth. Classic Graves. Elegant, lightly savoury red fruit on the palate, fine-boned but with depth and length. Very impressive and drinking well, much more advanced than a bottle last year. ****1/2

Lovely nose with red berries and smoky, mineral notes. Touch of florals too. Medium bodied, elegant, bright red fruit, savoury contrasting notes, fine tannins, quite long. Lovely ****1/2

This was quite rich and not as well defined as the (2004) Pavillon it was served with, with red and black berry fruit, vanilla, a touch of smoke. Medium/full bodied, lightly smoky fruit, a touch of liquorice, soft tannins, good length finish. ***1/2

There was a slightly musty whiff about this at first which seemed to blow off quite quickly to reveal and open, perhaps slightly lactic nose, with mainly black berry fruit, spice, earth, smoke. Mature even perhaps a bit structureless on the palate with very soft tannins and somewhat subdued acidity. ***

Deep ruby core, pale garnet rim. Quite youthful with rich, dark fruit, vanilla, decent balancing acidity, some still quite firm tannin showing on the good length finish. Probably the most backward wine of the evening ***(*).

Attractive, composed, fragrant red fruit on the nose, touch of cedar and spice but still quite youthful. Medium bodied on the palate with lightly savoury red fruit, cedar, touch of mineral and a nice long, savoury finish. Lovely ****

A very odd rubbery note on the nose which was difficult to get past. Quite full on the palate with sweet chocolatey dark fruit and a drying finish. *

Lovely bright medium gold. Nose is fresh with grassy notes and grapefruit to the fore, spice too. Medium full bodied with attractive weight and nice contrasting fresh acidity carrying a good/very good length finish. ****
