Introduction

Tasting at the impressive new cuverie with Erwan Faiveley, immediately after a torrential rainstorm with minor hail as we were driving along RN74.

  • 2017 Faiveley Bâtard-Montrachet

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru

  • 2017 Faiveley Corton-Charlemagne

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Barrel tasting at faiveley. Dense and powerful orchard and stone fruit, almost unctuous. Very good weight, good length. So much here, but it seems compact and backward right now. I would be very interested in re-visiting this wine a year from now to assess how it has come together, but think it has very good+ cellarworthy potential.
