Tasted double blind. Several people immediately identified this as Leflaive, which seemed likely to be correct based on its richness and ripe style. It didn't quite seem like Bâtard-Montrachet or Chevalier-Montrachet to me, so I thought it possibly a great Pucelles.
Tasted double blind. Very earthy and funky to start, this took 10-15 minutes to clean up, but finally it cleaned up nicely indeed. Nobody initially thought Chablis, given its overall richness. Broad array of orchard fruit, riper than typical for Chablis, clearly long and powerful with Grand Cru density.

I liked this a lot, but half the group was less thrilled. I kept some in glass for several hours to enjoy with cheese, at which point it was completely unchanged and still wonderful.

Tasted double blind. Enormous amount of big red fruit with some black cherry hints and savory spice. Both powerful and simultaneously weightless, I thought it slightly older (1999) and Amoureuses. Very long finish while slightly backward or brooding in the middle for now. Very exciting potential, but still not quite at its peak.

Tasted double blind. Very rich black and red cherry aromas and flavors with a broad array of sweet and savory spice. Ok there is still a bit of protruding new oak, but not offensive at all. Spice profile, ripeness and accessibility made me think this was Vosne Grand Cru from 2002. Certainly the best I can ever recall for this wine.

Tasted double blind. All red fruit with good ripeness, but great balance and textural genius. Starts off charming and pretty, then expands into a nearly weightless and long finish. I correctly identified this as Musigny, thinking it either 1998 or 2001, but did not correctly identify the producer.

Served double blind to the tasting group, alongside the 1995. Wonderfully elegant black fruit in absolutely perfect harmony. Good weight and length. So enjoyable now, this will continue to evolve in interesting ways for most likely another two decades.

Plenty of black fruit with red and blue berry hints and firm, but fine tannins. Good power and depth. Slightly less elegant vs the 1996, which helped me identify which was which.

Tasted double blind in what turned out to be a 1978 flight. Incredibly alluring red fruit with enough freshness to balance the tertiary notes of slowly cooked mushrooms. More elegant vs powerful, but so charming and nuanced.

Tasted double blind in what turned out to be a 1978 flight. Awkward and light but still enjoyable. I thought this younger and the firmness made me think perhaps the flight was from 1988, so I was only one full decade off. More interesting than tasty, but others enjoyed this more than I did tonight.
