France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Superb bottle, despite saturated cork and ample signs of old seepage. Youthful color, mouth-coating, great complexity, with reductive tropical, citrus, smoky, mineral and oak notes, and a bit of persistent heat. Acidity is fading, I'm glad we opened this now.
Very youthful medium-deep ruby color. Tobacco, mushroom and toffee notes predominate, but bright red fruit is still present. Beautiful texture in the mouth, elegant balance, great length. Perhaps not quite the best bottle of this, but very fine and enjoyed by all.
No label; vintage and brand stamped wax capsule; correct cork; high shoulder fill; some seepage. Color of root beer in the glass, little depth, obtrusive spirit. This gave some pleasure with its tawny notes, otherwise a weak bottle. Not scored.

Similar to previously, a bit more oily and less crisp this time.
