In the bouquet loads of herbs and spices, even coughing syrup. On the palate full bodied, milk chocolate, cinnamon, a lot of sweetness, nicely balanced by good acidity. Beautiful and concentrated, complex wine. 94 - 95+

Special and concentrated bouquet wit minerals, herbs and sweet spices, tobacco and one of the participants mentioned Jägermeister, which the rest could understand… On the palate chocolate, sweet spices, black olives, a lot of sweetness, beautiful and mild acidity, round tannin and pleasant bitterness. Overall a beautiful and complex, tasty wine with still plenty of future, 95+

  • 2003 Château Pontet-Canet 96 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Beautiful and rustic bouquet, creamy dark and red berries as well as some pleasant barnyard. On the palate beautiful dark berries, vanilla, sweet spices, chocolate, beautifully fresh acidity and tannin with still a lovely and firm bite and pleasant bitterness in the finish. After the vintage was revealed, I was especially impressed by the good freshness. Great wine with still a great future. Pity I don’t own any bottles.

  • 2005 Château Pontet-Canet 96 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Truly beautiful and complex bouquet with sweet spices and dark berries. On the palate still a powerful wine with dark and red berries, some bell pepper, beautiful and well integrated oak, good acidity nicely balanced by some sweetness and round, firm tannin. This wine will easily last another 2 decades, but is already a great pleasure now. 96+

  • 2009 Château Pontet-Canet 98 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Extremely beautiful bouquet with dark berries, mint, sweet spices, beautifully integrated oak and cedar. On the palate an enormous concentration and complexity. Dark berries and cherries. Some green bell pepper impressions as well. Beautiful acidity and tannin with a good bite. Have a few, which I will carefully spread over the next 2+ decades. 98+ without any doubt.
