  • 1984 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon 95 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

Dark red color. Youthfull nose with intense aromas of black currant and other black berries, also packing more subtle notes of sour curdled milk and vanila. Very concentrated fruit on the palate packing intense flavours and leaving a very youthfull impression in the mouth. Sweet oak and coconut shows up on the midpalate and finish, and the tannins still makes a powerfull presence. Super long taste and amazing complexity, at the same time all the elements are beautifully intertwined in the smooth mouthfeel that is an absolute pleasure to drink. I'm utterly stunned by how youthfully this wine is at this age.
