  • 1959 Château Margaux 96 Points

Classic mature Bordeaux. This was the lightest, most delicate of the 3 Bordeaux in this flight. Beautiful mix of red and dark fruit, perfectly balanced.

Intense bright blue fruit. This had a hint of volatility but was a captivating wine with lots of lively fruit and acidity in a perfectly structured package.

Flight 5 - Right Bank and an Italian Surprise (2 Notes)

  • 1959 Château Latour à Pomerol 98 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol

This wine is still incredibly young. The tannins are noticeable but not harsh at all, just very well structured. The flavor profile is classic pruny Merlot fruit. A gorgeously complex wine.

Flight 6 - The Perfection of Yquem (1 Note)

  • 1959 Château d'Yquem 100 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

A perfect Yquem. Completely dark. Barely sweet at all. Just perfectly balanced complex nutty flavors with a spine of acidity. Impossible to put down.
