Double Blind- didn't know which one was ours. Revealed at the end.
I didn't do great calling wines tonight. Some tough examples. Looking back at my notes it looks more obvious than in the moment.
2011 Louis Jadot Corton-Clos du Roi
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
Bright crimson maroon; high toned nose, still a touch of pencil eraser reduction, strong sour cherry and cranberry, whispers of strawberry, lean, taut, touch of green and vanilla, crunchy fruit, some generosity but sour youthful acids; looking back at the notes this looks a little more obvious as CdB.

2014 Sylvie Esmonin (Michel et Fille) Gevrey-Chambertin
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Much darker with pale rim; obvious candied note, dark fruit, plummy, almost grape Runts, animale, deeper, layered, tannin, grippy; reminds me of Tollot Beaut or Bertrand Ambroise; needs many more years.

2010 Aurelien Verdet Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Cloudy plum, larger rim; exotic nose, herbaceous, orange oil, dark plummy character, tea, smoke, mineral, more age than the last, plush and lush, juicy, modern-ish, almost chocolate on the finish.

2009 Domaine René Leclerc Griotte-Chambertin
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
Cloudy duller dark ruby; orange oil, sweet plum, cocoa, spice, aged complexity, good depth, still broad and generous, plush and sexy while having good acid, juicy and delicious, like the flesh on this.

2012 Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos St. Jean Rouge
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Darker ruby; edgy nose of dark fruit and rock dust, green edge, cocoa, apple skin, plum, tart, deeper fruit, young and intense, spice, crunchy, zippy acid, feels like it needs some time to open up; voted WOTN, but this lost some focus and didn't perform as well as it did earlier, Chassagne punching above its weight but then came back to earth.

2012 Michel Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrées Vieilles Vignes
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Darker ruby; spice, tea, dark fruit, lovely nose, balanced, juicy and youthful, lacks some persistence, seems like this had seen enough air, complex yet undelineated; delicious.
