Drinking well; fully mature. Floral nose. Very smooth mouth feel, decently long finish. Fruit is somewhat muted but acid structure is present and supportive. I get some hint of the tannins as a drying sense in the finish, but they're very well integrated.
All in all I'm happy with the choice, but I'm skeptical of the drinking window making it to 2028 per the community's current ideas.

Purity of red fruits, some minerality, but still very primary. A little thin on the finish, but this is such a clean & pure wine with a solid core of fruit, it might warrant a higher score with time in bottle. I think it is just a bit young. Decanted for 1 hour. Though, I am left still feeling a bit like this wine will always be lacking something to make it an outstanding wine.

Knightsbridge annual Burgundy tasting. My favorite of the Pousse d'Or reds, this had great flavor concentration and floral elements (violets) while still being tightly wound. The Tavannes was good but this was of a higher pedigree.

Cotes de Nuits vs. Cotes de Beaune Blind Tasting (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Dark maroon with ruby rim; brooding nose, beef blood, whole cluster?, rose petals, cherry pit, long finish, lingering grip, loaded with potential, very complete wine; Dujac MSD?

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Reticent start, good red cherry in the middle, then a fairly structured finish for Volnay. Good for its level.
