Réserve perpétuelle since 2003, 95% Pinot Meunier and 5% Pinot Noir, disgorged 14 January 2020. Rich and rounded, delicately fluffy but elegant, juicy and supple but minerally and direct, smooth and flowing. A lovely aperitif.
Third time in less than half a year, second time in three weeks! Decanted this time, and it suits the wine. It closes up a bit in the decanter, and it shows a more minerally face than straight from the bottle. Layered, rich, classical, drinking well now with great potential.
Full golden colour, white truffle nose, bitter orange, no botrytis, hint of cocoa, lovely bitters, hint of apple on the finish, very good resonance and length.
