Les Beguines, Fac-Simile, Climax and Iota Tasting of Jerome Prevost

Since a while I love the champagnes of Jerome, especially fac-simile 2013 and Les Beguines 2017. We did a small vertical of Les Beguines 2011-2017 and fac-simile 2013-2017, climax 2012 and Iota 2016

  Maybe the "weakest" in this small vertical. Less concentration and the most impressive nose. Freshness and chalkieness. 93

  Again impressive and tremendous. So much fruit with no dosage. Unbelievable. The balance is perfect. The bottle was empty after few minutes. 95-96

  The rose is sublime, the white one is not far away from that. Saline and a sweetness from 2gr dosage. Unbelievable. 94

  2012 is an impressive vintage. All vintages are different but you recognize his style. Elegance and freshness, not too round but balanced. This is superb. 95

  For me not a big difference to the regular Beguines. The wine was 2 years in oak instead of one year. Only 800 bottles are made. 95

  Again sublime and lovely balanced. It is not a typical Rose, this is so elegant and powerful likewise. The fruit is in the background but every time present. Beside Cristal is the most impressive Rose for me. Didn't reach his peak. 96-97

  Similar to Les Beguines 2017 this is amazing. You could drink the bottle in 20 minutes. Acidity driven but nicely balanced. 95-96

  Amazing wine. Rose with 2% red wine. Sublime, elegant, discreet in fruit but a monster in the palate. Some red berries, chalky, saline, balanced. 97

This is a champagne of world class, especially fac-simile and the iconic Iota.
