Tasted blind. Light golden; medium aromatics with slight butteriness, slight minerality, not quite butterscotch; palate is full bodied, medium-plus alcohol, medium balanced acidity, slight vanilla; finish is medium-minus length. A very nice Chardonnay, seems classical in style (likely classical California producer), youthful but seems like it has a few years of age on it. 90-91
Tasted blind. Light green-yellow; high intensity aromatics, sulfur and reduction; palate is full bodied, richly textured despite high acidity, green apple, balanced medium alcohol, some minerality. Seems like a minerally-styled white burgundy, possibly Chablis, youthful, needs air and time. Seems promising. 91-92
Light ruby with slight bricking; moderately aromatic with red fruit and clustered berries, slight animal musk; palate is light-medium bodied, elegant medium-plus acidity, medium alcohol, primary red fruit, medium tannins; finish is medium length. A lovely recognizably old-world pinot, classically Burgundian in style, and surprisingly open for a 2010, but I'm not sure I would get to Volnay from here. 90
Light ruby with slight purplish edge; high intensity aromatics, red berries, seems almost like it could be whole cluster, except that cellartracker lists a specific whole cluster bottling which this was not (I think...), slight smokiness, a sweetness to the fruit common in New World pinots; palate is light-medium bodied, superb medium-plus fresh acidity, certainly a richer denser pinot than the red burgundy served beside it, but not heavy or plodding at all, low tannins; finish is medium length. This was well balanced and incredibly drinkable, but also quite complex. 92
Medium-deep ruby with no bricking; nose is very reticent, not able to get much out of it other than a bit of fruit; palate is medium bodied, medium-plus acidity, low to medium tannin, but the fruit seems fairly hidden; finish is short. This is a bit of an odd duck. Not bad bones, but the flesh and fruit isn't there. 82
Medium-deep ruby with purple edges; intensely aromatic nose with gamey notes, black pepper, noticeable olive tapenade, some smokey notes; palate is medium bodied, elegant medium-plus acidity, medium alcohol, plenty of primary black and purple fruit but really interesting and complex savory notes with olives; finish is medium-plus to long. This is a really lovely northern rhone syrah. The aromatics on this really improved with 1-2 hours in the glass. Ready to try now but will age further and I think the mouthfeel will improve over time as the wine becomes even more integrated. 93+
