Zoom tasting with the wine group; 10/22/2020-10/23/2020 (Zoom): Tasted blind. Light golden; medium aromatics with slight butteriness, slight minerality, not quite butterscotch; palate is full bodied, medium-plus alcohol, medium balanced acidity, slight vanilla; finish is medium-minus length. A very nice Chardonnay, seems classical in style (likely classical California producer), youthful but seems like it has a few years of age on it. 90-91

Beautiful night here, giving Champagne a break for a few days. Went to pull the 2013 Copain Brosseau but it was gone so grabbed my last 2015, actually my final Copain Brosseau Chard in my cellar. I've dug this plot since Wells made the first vintage starting in 2009. The 2015's acidity has pretty well softened and the wine is in a good place. Pineapple, yellow apples, oranges and a touch of citrus. The wine remains generous and balanced but I'd say it's ready to go and I'm catching my final bottle at a great time.

Medium light hay in color, hints of stone fruit and a Chablis-like sea spray note; wife’s first reaction was actually “Chablis”, which I think is apt, with lovely medium intensity and depth, amazingly sleek and taut for a California Chardonnay, with zippy acidity, some subtle saline weaving through the long, mineral finish. I’d love to have this bottle in a lineup of, say, Fevre grand cru. Bravo.
Beautifully pungent pure Chardonnay nose, with lovely medium rich fruit, hints of saline umami, good acidity that provides excellent balance in an unobtrusive way, and a long finish that brings out some nice soft minerality. Outstanding.

Have not drank one of these for about 18 months. Opened an hour ago, chilled it down and am working through the first glass. The acidity on this is vivid, and I would concur with S1's comment about it, too. Lemon and grapefruit, green apple, pear with a brushing of honey, akin to a BdB from Champagne. Finishes with slate and a clean and brisk finish. As it warms up and gets air, it begins to resemble more of the 2010, with that lovely richness that accents the beam of acidity. I've liked this wine since Wells first started making the Chard off this vineyard back in 2009.

Tasted as part of a Brosseau chard vertical we did with Wells @ the winery, with this being the only vintage yet to be released. 13.4% ABV. This has the richness of the 2010, and it shows a spearmint quality. Golden apple, lemon, creamy and light pineapple. Kind of a blend of the 2014's acidity and the texture and depth of the 2010. Really good.

Fantastic Chardonnay. Definitely different from a typical chard and really lovely. Soft, crisp, light fruit, great finish
