This is a tasting I did in the fall of 2020 but only managed to upload now.
Tasting small bottles delivered by 67 Pall Mall
Notes are mine and others
Scores are mine
These wines were certainly good, excellent even. However, you pay up for it, and then some. Better value to be had in buying the first wines of lower classed chateaux in my view.
2005 Carruades de Lafite 93 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Elegant nose with very pure fruit, graphite, tobacco, cedar finished with a menthol edge. On the palate, elegant, subtle and soft. Was expecting this to be too powerful but it drinks effortlessly. Probably my favourite of the flight if value for money was not a consideration

2005 Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 93 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Chocolate and caramel combined with dark fruit characterise this powerful nose. On the palate, powerful but smooth. Tannins well integrated so ready to drink. Will keep for another decade. High quality but you pay up for it

2005 Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 93 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
Expressive nose with cassis, pencil shavings, cedar and tobacco notes that expand over time. Silky but restraint, tannins almost integrated. Nice juicy finish. Ready but can be kept for a decade. Expensive but good

2005 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou Croix de Beaucaillou 90 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot
Red ripe fruit, and graphene on the nose. Compared to the first wine, lighter in body, slightly higher in acidity, less dense tannins. However, overall silky maybe even opulent. This wine is fully open and ready to drink.

2005 Les Pagodes de Cos 91 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50 Merlot.
More closed than the la Croix, but pure cassis and graphite, sweet tobacco in the nose. Silky, balanced but tannins still present. Overall good but not very concentrated.
