Four of us got together to drink a few nice wines. We ordered a al carte and all the dishes were spot on. The wine service was very good as usual.
The 09 showed really well. The 11 showed noticeable pyrazine.
The 02 was excpetional, really consistent wine. The 90 had pleanty of fruit. The 09 Damony was really excellent.
A great time was had by all.
2008 Dom Pérignon Champagne 97 Points
France, Champagne
Expressive nose displaying sweet rich yellow fruit with a hint of white, lemon curd, baked apple, honey, honeysuckle, white pepper and crushed rocks. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of sweet yellow fruit, rich and opulent yet beautifully balanced, find generous mousse, bright acidity and strong limestone mineral, and a long sweet yellow fruit driven finish. It has gained weight and the fruit is more yellow compare to a year ago. This will develop beautifully.

2008 Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut 98 Points
France, Champagne
Incredibly energetic and precise nose displaying concentrated yet delicate yellow fruit with a hint of white, lemon curd, fresh lemon, apple, smoke, light honey, honeysuckle and crushed rocks. Beautifully integrated refined palate, finely layered sweet yellow fruit, perfectly precise, balanced and detailed, incredibly fine mousse, bright acidity, strong mineral and a seamless long pure yellow and white fruit driven finish with honey and limestone at the end. There is so much energy and tension. Despite being very youthful, this is drinking incredibly well. The 08 Cristal is more refined and detailed than the 08 Dom, like Chevalier vs Batard.
