Introduction

Mike and I enjoyed 2 Grand Cru Burgundy from the 1999 vintage.

Flight 1 - Great Peking Duck with Crispy Skin, Lovely Burgundy, and Wine talk (2 Notes)

Red Cherry vs Black cherry, bigger body vs better nose, and a great food pairing today, Thank you Alex and Mike for a lovely lunch.

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru

    Nose of black cherry, dry, dusty earth, black berry, black currants, and hint of saddle leather, more of the same on the palate, big body, very tasty, time to enjoy is now as it's past the peak, mouth filling fruit, opened the first 30 minutes, lovely, rich fruit, bigger body than the Corton Bressandes today, long finish.     France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru

    Nose of red cherry, lots of red cherry today, and baker's chocolate, nose was terrific today compared to last time tasted, same on the palate, medium/big body, very tasty, sweet cherry taste, lovely red fruit, mouth filling, and a medium/long finish. Photo uploaded.
