A blend of 75% Chardonnay and 20% Savagnin non-ouilllé. Ripe but elegant and fresh Chardonnay with a touch of young Vin Jaune, green apple, hint of green olive, salt, very good length.
Made from 100% old vine Carignan. Vinified and aged for two years in old barrels. No sulphur added, bottled unfined and unfiltered, 15.5% ABV. Big and full and fruit-driven, slightly port-like, there is a wonderful untamed quality to it, flowers and garrigue, powerful but silky and mild-mannered, very good persistence.
AP 17 93. Medium golden colour with a touch of amber; delicately sweet, peaches and a hint of honey, spicy slate, juicy fruit and slightly drying bitters, salty finish with green apple, good length. Fully mature but still going strong.
