Drank a small glass at the winery's tasting house over an hour. Tannins are more evident. This wine is less impressive than the cab but more enjoyable due to a bit more balance. Chocolate, cherries, rich and ripe, modern for sure.
Drank a small glass over an hour at the winery's tasting house. On the nose, the fruit is just pretty and delicious. Rich rich chocolate and strawberry, rose petals, sweet earth. I can almost smell the fine tannins. The palate has a lot of acid, really fine tannin, more acid than tannin. A hint of alcohol, which seemed more evident with time. The nose is a 95, palate is a 90, so... 93 overall?
Drank a small pour over 45 minutes at the Tusk winery tasting house. Lots of earth and a touch of ash. Slight green pepper, not much tannin, somewhat savory, slightly blueberry, shorter finish.
Drank a small glass over 45 minutes at the Tusk winery tasting house. Wow, silky, savory, super smooth mouthfeel that ends with fine tannins. Lays of savory flavors, blue fruit and peppers. Red fruit also, plenty of acid, chocolate, tons of structure that will likely age well. The spokesman said it's called the Immortal because you can't trademark "immortality". Think on that.
Drank a fairly miserly pour at the winery over 45 minutes. Slight cassis and chocolate, a bit of tomato, this is TOTALLY a modern Napa wine and it's fairly flavorful.
Drank a fairly miserly pour at the winery over 45 minutes. Perfumed fruit, pretty and grapey. Sorry but they're bordering on jammy, some tannins, not enough acid.
Drank a fairly miserly pour at the winery over 45 minutes. Nose of ripe tomato, red fruit, lots of acid and gravelly tannins, a grate tasting young wine, full of great fruit. 92+.
Drank a small glass over 45 minutes at the winery. This was a rockstar initially, and it became quite 2007ish with time. Initially, holy crap, the layers wash over you, blue fruit, herbal tomato, tobacco, early, slight anise, herbs de provence. This palate is really soft. Then with time, the anise builds, it becomes bigger, and it's kind of like Napa meets Southern Rhone. 95 down to 94 and finally landing at 93.
