Floral, peach, sweet orange and lemongrass aromas. Good presence and power on the palate, though it's a little flashy right now and could probably use a bit of time to settle down the youthful exuberance, but all the components are there for it to lift off.
Mandarin, mango, celery, spice, orange peel with smoke and musk - quite nicely complex nose. Bright palate with a good mix of ripe fruit and acidity tracing out the detail. In a good spot for drinking now.
Very lifted nose with yellow and white florals, spices, lime and ozone. Zingy on the palate with expressive fruit and great length. Brims with potential.
Mint, pine, grapefruit and orange rind. Good purity to the palate, with the sweet fruit well balanced by the acidity. Nicely put together wine that is delicious and drinking really well now. A clear step up vs the 04 Josephshofer Spätlese next to it.
Toast, orange, smoke and apple. The palate is fairly mild, with restrained fruit and acidity - tad simple but nothing out of place otherwise. Drink now, though a few years earlier likely would have been better.
Red berries, ash, cherry and cola notes on the nose. Light palate profile, with good fruit freshness and decent carry. Palate is more simple than the nose, but it's quite pleasant overall.
Smoky, spice, toast and redcurrant. Well balanced palate with refined and delicate red fruits along with a good backing of acidity. Youthful and should develop well from here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
Charcoal, ash, cherry and cocoa on the nose. Bright on the palate, good acidity and texture with moderate depth. Improved slightly with air but looking good for drinking now.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Pretty nose - spice, violet lift, berries and cherries. Appealing on the palate as well, lovely depth and grip along with appealing flavour intensity. Excellent!
Pencil shavings, strawberry and tobacco. Light profile on the palate, tinged with fruit sweetness. Finishes up a bit short. Possibly past its prime drinking window.
Pepper, roses, woody tobacco notes and cherry. Red flavoured fruit on the palate, with a bit of sweetness. Moderate depth and probably in the right spot for drinking now.
Oak, graphite and redcurrant on the nose. Rippling tannins, really taut and controlled on the palate. Coiled up, there isn't a lot of pleasure here tonight even with a lengthy decant and promising components.
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Plummy, cherry, spicy oak and some smoky notes. Plenty of tannins but the fruit has a ripe streak that keeps it relatively approachable. Good but probably needs more time to unfurl.
Red berries, cherry cola, dusty earth - youthful with good energy. Plushly styled on the palate, plenty of red and black fruits. Good length and plenty of potential on this one.
Pepper, blueberry, redcurrant, cherry and plums on the nose. Super composed on the palate with fine tannins and intense but layered fruit flavours. Delicious.
Blind. Redcurrant, cherry, plum and blackberries on the nose. Palate is quite sweet styled, fruity and lifted. No rough edges to this, though it does retain some nice texture. I think this could be quite good once the youthful exuberance is toned down.
Sensational right off the bat. Lemon, grapefruit, white florals, apricot and mango. Beautiful balance and poise on the palate - straight up delicious. Revisited a couple of nights later and it was still signing, wonderful purity and delicacy. Exceptionally good.
