SLDS May 2021: Classic tar and roses, licorice, blackberry and violets. Powerful tannins, punchy fruit ripeness that compliments the tight structural elements.

Man fornemmer lidt udvikling men står ret frisk.

Tasted this one a year ago. It was oddly off-balance, as I remember it, disjointed, underwhelming. Today much better. A fine Barolo with soft and light characterstics. A pleasure. Fresh and fruity with substantial tannins. Wouldn’t wait too long though. Doesn’t seem like a long hauler.

Roses tar balsam on the nose. Round and ripe, dense and with a sense of sap. On the palate, the flavors are bordering brown, with beef broth/bouillon. Surprising acidity gives some relief from the broader and brown flavors, giving some lift and freshness. Balsamic on the back end. Has same hole in palate but less pronounced than the Barolo di Barolo.
