Walk around tasting. Core of sweet, ripe cherry is pleasant and balanced. Good length., ending brightly. Borderline 1er Cru density for me.

Walk around tasting. Another disappointing vintage. Good enough fruit, slightly coarse structure, drying finish.

Walk around tasting. All red with charming spice. Very Vosne, I would just like a little more concentration and weight.

Walk around tasting. Red and black fruit with baking spice here, so classically Vosne, so very pretty already now. Good weight, good+ weight with an expanding finish.

Walk around tasting. Clearly ripe and rich throughout with some firm tannins in the middle that manage to avoid seeming backward. Very good weight and length, I like the 90-91 point potential, 2028 forward.

Walk around tasting. Also very charming and accessible with unmistakable Vosne styled red fruit and spice. Elegantly layered already, this would already be so enticing to enjoy with a meal. This has typically been an assemblage of purchased fruit from three different 1er Cru vineyards, I was told there are four in 2020.

Walk around tasting. Soaring aromas of ripe and ultra bright black and red berries. Good weight, great length. Good+ depth in the middle now, with more to come with a year or two of bottle age.

Walk around tasting. Certainly ripe, perhaps too ripe, but with plenty of concentration. Very firm and backward now, this will require a decade + in the cellar, 90-91+ point potnetial.

Walk around tasting. Very impressive, almost as good as the Echezeaux tasted earlier. Bright red fruit with a big savory spicebox. Very impressive density, near the level of Grand Cru, with wonderful balance already. 92-93 point potential.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Here, in contrast, is something a little too old school where the fruit isn't allowed to shine even while this ripe. Firm and slightly coarse to me.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. A very pleasant surprise here. Rich start, then firm in middle, but brightening up with ripe fruit and subtle spice on its long-ish finish. Very good, 2030 forward.

Walk around tasting. Rich with lots of fruit, nicely powerful, but firm tannins dominate today. Good potential, 2030 forward.

Walk around tasting. Enticing red fruit aromas with subtle spice and meat notes, all very pretty. Similar flavors are slightly firm for now, but overall well balanced even if not quite as elegant today. Very good 91-92 point potential,2027 forward.

Walk around tasting. Tasty. Shockingly simple.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. On the lighter side of the table of 2020 Vosne 1er Cru wines, but supremely elegant. Bright red fruit with more power and weight than initially comes through, this is a charming wine that will drink well young, 91-92 point potential, 2026 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. More black fruited vs fruit. lots of power, not as much grace or finesse as I expect from Suchots. Needs lots of time.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Ripe but oddly light for the vintage and place.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Slightly more black vs red fruit with assertive spice. Perhaps some whole cluster protrudes today, but it is almost fully integrated. There is an impressive minerally, structured through-line that really like here, carrying everything along with it. Very good 92-93 point potential, 2026 forward. Almost as successful as their wonderful Clos Vougeot tasted earlier.

Walk around tasting. Like the Guyon Grand Crus tasted earlier, this is elegant and subtle, but with lots of substance nearly hidden for now. If everything converges on how this finishes today, this will end up at the high end of a 92-94 point range, better 2028 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Ripe but wonderfully balanced and elegant. Rich start, then more lift than tannins in a middle, finally ending with a bright finish. Good+ weight, better length. Perhaps slightly lacking in concentration to be an even greater wine. Cellar to 2025 forward.

Walk around tasting. Another 2020 success for Bertagna. Seemed ripe and simple to start, but concentration and power emerged in the power, followed by a long finish. Very good 91-92 point potential, 2025 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Dense with lots of power, but slightly clunky right now. Tannic middle and finish indicate time will be required, but there is a lot here for when this reaches balance, 89-91 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Bright red fruit with subtle spice. So wonderfully balanced now, but with clear upside. Very enticing already.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Complex combination of black and red berries with charming Vosne styled Asian five spice. Elegant throughout already with a bump of richness in the middle. Very impressive throughout even if not particularly powerful per se.

Walk around tasting. Bright and charming red-fruited aromas and flavors with Vosne spice. Slightly riper on nose vs palate, but well balanced throughout. Long, elegant finish.

Walk around tasting. Enticing spice-driven nose with ripe, sweet red fruit everywhere. so pretty right now, but surely more to come wit a few years in bottle. 92-94 point potential, based on how much weight it puts on, 2027 forward.

Walk around tasting. Bright red cherry and berry throughout with enticing (whole cluster?) spice everywhere. Everything in balance with subtle structure in the near background. Very long, lingering finish. 93-94 points.

Walk around tasting. Ripe red fruits with subtle spice, firm tannins. Slightly awkward now, but good length. Decade+ patience required, 90-91 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Black and red cherry with spicy, minty hints. Slightly brawny, yet well balanced. Fairly accessible Grand Cru, possibly as early as 2030.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Very spiced and very ripe, I'm guessing harvested later than ideal. But there is so much dry extract here and fruit manages to retain freshness, even with its hint of sweet candy. 92-93 points, 2028 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Spiced nose with meaty notes and lots of brooding black cherry. Same black fruited flavors with pronounced structure, but lots of density. More "Old School" style here, firm and powerful but backward. Don't even think about opening before 2030.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. This is also more "old school," but less backward than Faiveley. Black and red cherry throughout with faint spice and meat notes. Ends with a long, lingering, and elegant finish.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Incredible seamless balance here. Black and red berries with Asian five spice and lots of nuance emerging already. Good weight, great length, and incredibly finessed. A great performance this year, 94-95 point potential, 2026-2050.
Post a Comment / 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Spice driven aromas, perhaps a bit too much new oak with red cherry on nose and palate. Good depth of fruit, but slightly simple for Grand Cru (particularly when tasted alongside its peers) with imperfect balance for now. OK for its level.

Walk around tasting. A very intriguing and complex wine, and one of the most difficult to fully assess today. Floral and perfumed start was certainly alluring. Big and ripe, this seemed on the simple side at first. But there was an enticing brightness on the finish that really drew me back in. I had intended to revisit this wine at the end, but forgot. I think this is a great wine somehow hidden behind itself right now, but has 92-95 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Rich and well spiced with lots of baking spice. So much ripe black and red cherry everywhere. Wonderfully balanced now. Good weight, better length. As with most Liger-Belair wines, this will drink well young.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Broad array of red fruits here with subtle spice and am impressive brightness. Tannins are firm for now, but never obscure the fruit and spice notes. I think this is a more subtle, elegant wine that suffers when tasted in this context, particularly that alphabetically it follows its polar opposite - Liger-Belair! This is a wine that is likely to drink well young, possibly as soon as 2008, but will last for decades, 91-93 point potential.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Ripe cherries with big spicebox highlighting Asian five spice. Slightly more black vs red fruit here, this initially seems forward and fun, but brightens and intensifies towards its long finish. Very accessible young, this has 93-94 point potential depending on how much weight it picks up in the cellar.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Rich red fruit with so much savory spice showing lots of concentration and raw power. Lots here to enjoy, but backward and very cellarworthy. Great potential, 2030 forward.

Walk around tasting. Clair Naudin. Another ripe 2020, borderline overripe but manages to remain bright enough, certainly layered and rich.
Post a Comment / 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Clair Naudin. Less concentration than the 2020 with borderline Grand Cru density. Very perfumed aromatically with elegant textures and nicely bright. Entering its peak drinking window.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Lots of black and red cherry with spice hints and firm tannins that make it seem backward today but there is clear potential for a powerful Echezeaux here. Cellar for a decade+, 91+ point potential.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Ripe red cherry and plum with liqueur, mint and baking spice hints. Lots here, but ripeness and tannins dominate over everything else. Very good, but probably needing plenty of time for terroir to emerge. 90-91 point potential, 2031 forward.
Post a Comment / 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Perfectly Vosne-styled nose is subtly perfumed, then followed by lots of ripe red fruit everywhere. Elegantly styled with good weight, much better length, already wonderfully finessed. I am told this was raised in 100% new oak, which has fully absorbed here. 92-94 point potential, depending on how much weight this puts on, better from 2030 forward.

Walk around tasting. Intensely floral start with ripe red berries and cherries with such balance and class. Structure here is so brilliantly silky and elegant already, this is a young Grand Cru you just want to drink right now, but please wait for even more to develop. Good weight, great length with great textures.

Walk around tasting. Enjoyable already in its infancy, this is a fine wine with wonderful fruit, but not showing Grand Cru density to me.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Rich and powerful mostly red fruit with baking spice, burly and slightly awkward. Lots here, but hold until 2035 or later.

Walk around tasting. Very old school with plenty of power, just a bit of a tannic beast right now. Tough to assess right now.

Walk around tasting. Spiced with black and red cherry aromas. Similar palate with good weight, better length, bright textures. Spiced finish. I typically have low expectations of this wine, and was very pleased this year.

Walk around tasting. Nicole Lamarche. Supremely elegant with a spiced and floral start accompanies by all red fruit. Not a powerful, but impeccably seamless and balanced already. Very long finish.

Walk around tasting. Lots of cherry aromas, then also fruit-forward on palate with more restraint, slightly lean. Good overall.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Rich and fun with plenty of ripe fruit, less complex than I might expect from Grand Cru, with good enough concentration. Probably good young.

Walk around tasting. Ripe and nicely rich throughout with good density and a core of sweet cherry, while ending with brightness and nearly elegant. A wine I have rarely tasted, and was pleasantly surprised at well it showed.

Walk around tasting. Mostly black fruit here, on the firm and backward side. A bit of new oak and whole cluster seem to protrude for now, so patience will be needed for everything to come together. 91-92 point potential, 2030 forward. Certainly good, but not nearly as interesting as the Echezeaux tasted earlier.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Lots here, possibly on the ultra ripe side, with plenty of black fruit and just enough spice. Firm middle and finish for now, give this a decade + in the cellar.

Walk around tasting. Seemed dirty. Off bottle?

Walk around tasting. Spiced aromatic start with ripe red fruit. Similar flavors show more balance. Better than their Grands-Echezeaux tasted earlier.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. OK overall, but a little too oaky, a bit too much pronounced whole cluster, and tannins are nearly drying.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Charming nose shows good fruit purity in an old school style. Similarly rich flavors, but firm for the vintage with slightly drying tannins. Needs time, again in that old school style.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Rich and well spiced with plenty of ripe red and black cherry. The new oak and whole cluster still protrude right now, but there is so much here that everything will surely harmonize with a few years in bottle. Very good weight and length, cellar until 2030 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Lean and firm with lots of concentration. Lots of fruit, but there is a faint bitterness that is intriguingly suppressing the ripeness, but also throwing off the balance. I like what I am tasting, but find it slightly confusing. I would give this plenty of cellar time, 92-93 point potential.

Walk around tasting. This is a very pretty, very elegant, and very charming young Clos Vougeot. Already. Lots of fun fruit with everything else just off the center stage in support. Will drink well young, as soon as 2025.

Walk around tasting. Lots of cherry everywhere, delicately spice. Silky tannins already, everything well balanced.

Walk around tasting. Certainly good fruit intensity. Starts out ripe, finishes lean, while slightly off balance with a drying finish.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Good concentration of black and red cherry, but tannins seem to dominate. Not much hint of fun here.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Like the Echezeaux from before, this is very subtle. It seems fun, starting with reasonable Grand Cru weight, but then goes on and on, getting bigger along the way. 91-93 point potential, based on how much weight it puts on.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. same as a few weeks ago. More red than black fruit, showing both cherry and berry character, savory spice, subtle tannins, and overall elegance for this youthful stage. 92-93 point potential.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. More floral and spiced than I recall from previous vintages, this seems to really highlight the wine's Vosne-ness in nice ways, while also fairly refined and delicate. At the same time, there is a power on the finish that tells us to leave this alone for 6-10 years. 92-93 points.

Walk around tasting. Ripe black fruit with good balance, good enough weight. Will drink well on the young side, 2025-2040

Walk around tasting. Like so many of the best 2020s, this is easy to think as a fun, simpler wine that it really will be. Wonderful balance here with sneaky good length. 92-93 point potential, 2028 forward.

Walk around tasting. Black fruits, ripe and powerful with meaty character. But also well balanced already. I do not think I have previously tasted this from any vintage.

Walk around tasting. Bright black and red berries start-to-finish, this seems both rich but also nearly lean due to its bright, minerally textures. Very good length. 91-93 point potential, based on how much weight this manages to put on, better 2030 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. One of my absolute highlights. More red vs black fruit with spice, rare beef, and silky textures. Very good density and length with a lingering finish. Great 94-95 point potential, 2027 forward.

Walk around tasting. Lighter than most others in the vintage, while nicely elegant and balanced.

Walk around tasting. Another fun 2020 that turns out to have more density than initially perceived. Lots of dry extract, sneaky good length.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Great nose with gobs of an array of very ripe berries, liqueur, and baking spice. Similar flavor profile but somewhat obscured for now behind firm structure. This needs at least a decade in the cellar, probably more. Like many 2018s, this has shut down hard.
Post a Comment / 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. More red vs black fruit, ripe and plump, but certainly bright on both nose and palate. Elegant and completely engaging, this shuts down slightly on its long finish. An excellent wine that will reward 5 years in the cellar, then last for decades.

Walk around tasting. Even richer aromas vs Classique, with more charming spice showcasing whole cluster complexity. All black cherry on palate, very firm, but engaging on long finish. Patience, 2033-2063.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Black cherry and berry aromas and flavors already come across as complex and layered. Wonderfully rich without seemed extravagant, this is a big step up over Classique, as it goes on and on. Another star of the tasting. Better 2034 forward, 95-96 point potential.
