Introduction

This started out as Sherry and Tapas, but gradually evolved into a mix of summer wines and Sherry together. We had a great group out on the patio/private room at David's place. (DM, JG, JV, CS, LI/KI, ML/BL, KB/VB, DD). Food was a mix of inspired tapas to go with a fun line up of wines. What a gorgeous night! Thanks to David for putting this together and so graciously hosting us all!

    Spain, Cava

Ultra pale pink color. Small pour, light red berries, delicate and straightforward with no edges. Easy drinking and quite pleasant.

  • NV A. R. Lenoble Champagne Cuvée Intense Mag 16 Brut 92 Points

    France, Champagne

Light gold color. Small glass over 15 minutes. Lived up to its name tonight. Somewhat intense on the palate, deep with power and plenty of class, mid weight plus, well structured, creamy texture, orchard fruits with a sense of toast and baking spices, very clean and refreshing. These punch above their weight class for sure.

  • NV Voirin-Jumel Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut 91 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

Light gold color. Small glass over 20 minutes. I'm finding myself more and more enamored by this little BdB. Apple, Anjou pear, bread dough, yeast, lighter-medium body and clean with stone minerality.

  • 2008 Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brut Vintage 93 Points

    France, Champagne

Light gold color. Drank a small glass over 20 minutes. 61%PN, 34%C, 5%PM. Another year down the road and these continue to shine. Orchard fruits, sea breeze, light toast, lemon and chalk define this racy yet refined wine. Fun to drink in tandem with it's '08 Rose stablemate.

  • 2008 Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brut Rosé Vintage 93 Points

    France, Champagne

Pale salmon color. Drank a small glass over 20 minutes. Lovely as always, red cherries and strawberry on the nose with citrus and white flowers, dough and almond cream. The palate is creamy and delicate, quite crisp with red berry, bing cherry and fine chalk. Drank next to the '08 Brut. Both were spot on and fun to drink together. 93+pts.

  • 2015 Domaine des Baumard Savennières 92 Points

    France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Savennières

Pale green gold color. Small glass over 20 minutes. Steely nose, a hint of wafting fusil, cut pear, lightly floral, lychee, but really mineral driven on the palate with green fruits and a subtle tropical infusion. Really crisp, dry and refreshing. Loved it! 92+pts and maybe better.

  • 2020 Clos Cibonne Tibouren Côtes de Provence Cuvée Spéciale des Vignettes 90 Points

    France, Provence, Côtes de Provence

Medium salmon color. Small glass. Same bottle as Bellissimo, so I will refer you to his excellent, detailed note as well. Lots of ripe raspberry on the nose and palate, almost some sweetness to it on the nose, the palate adds ripe cherry, quite intense and coiled, comes off with power and and youth. This should be even better in a year or too. 90+ to 91pts.

    USA, California

Very pale pink color. Small glass over 20 minutes. Blend with 68%TN as base. Cherry, dried spices, light, fairly simple, pleasant enough quaffer.
