Enjoyable. More buttery than I like as Goodfellow's chardonnay tends to be, but I generally don't like anything more oaky than Chablis so that's not saying much. No formal notes. Courtesy of Chip.

Good structure. Strong guava note that Chip placed as lychee. Gael placed more guava as well, but regardless tropical. Courtesy of Fernando.

Immediately on opening I was concerned because the mid-palate seemed watery. After 5-10 minutes it smoothed out and was enjoyable. Nice lemony flavor. Definitey on the lighter side. A couple of people described it as a watery wine, though they noted not in a bad way. I disagree with that assessment, but it was definitely on the lighter end. Courtesy of Dan Z
Drink now, may have a year or two but no reason to risk it.

That matchstick though. No formal notes. Good wine, but not really my style. Courtesy of Jonathan.

To quote Fernando before he dumped it, "This is not a good wine."

Pinot WOTN. Drank over several hours. Did not seem to improve significantly in that time, the biggest change was in the first 15-20 minutes after pouring into decanter. Decanting necessary for sediment.
Soft, but structured. Great acidity, would be comfortable pairing it with just about anything that pinot usually stands up to. Flavor is mellow, but present. Red-brown fruited, the cherry is still there.
Drink now.

We enjoyed it, but it came in 3rd after the 2004 and 2012 for most participants. No formal notes. Ready to drink.

Tried with the 2008 and 2004. Better than the 08, but not at good as the 04. Tannin still there, but pretty well integrated. Likely drinking best in a couple of years. No formal notes.

Tasted against the 2014 courtesy of Chip, preferred the 2013. Solid acidity, structure. Red fruit still showing nicely, but browning.

Courtesy of Chip, enjoyed next to the 2013. Less red fruited than the 2013. Didn't seem to be drinking as well now. Was decanted for 1 hour before tasting which likely affected the comparison. Preferred the 13.

Enjoyed the wine, but maybe latched on to the verticals too much and didn't give this enough attention. No notes. Courtesy of Dan Z.

Acidity wasn't there, felt flabby next to the other wines (Goodfellow WR, Patricia Green Balcombe). No formal notes. Courtesy of Gael.

Incredible wine. Surprised by the color, a bit of a darker golden hue reminded me of '82 Suduiraut. Good acidity and structure. Courtesy of Dan Z.

Based on other notes, I wonder if there's bottle variation. Fresh and feeling young, with a light golden color. Not anywhere near peak, seems liked it needs another 10 years or so. Could gain 1-3 points in time. Courtesy of Dan Z.
Note, rated 1 point less than the '01 Rieussec, but in the long run will be a better wine.

WOTN among all wines. The aromatics are next-level. The body is full and soft on the palate. Good acidity but not great. On the palate, may not be better than the 01 Rieussec or Climens, but the aromatics push it over the edge. Courtesy of Dan Z.

2013 Bouvet-Ladubay Saumur Cuvée du Millénaire Instinct 90 Points

Out of magnum. Strong lemon to start that faded a bit with time. Good acidity. Wedding gift from R+E.
