Both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir come through loud & clear. Bright and long with broad array of orchard and berry character throughout. Lots here. Very good now.
Lots of berry but surprisingly advance. Good+ weight, and certainly enjoyable overall today, but disappointing for this wine, especially for cellaring.
I haven't tasted this wine in quite a few vintages, and was pleasantly surprised how well this tasted tonight. Charming, bright, well textured and wonderfully balanced with ripe apple start-to-finish and good weight.
Tropical fruits with good depth, this is plush and fleshy but with plenty of acidity bringing it a bright finish. Rich and unctuous middle. Good now through 2027.
Enticing aromas of black cherry, bacon fat, black pepper, and meaty spice are prototypically Côte-Rôtie, with flavors that nearly keep up. Good now through the next 20+ years.
Braised meat, mature black plum and cherry, olive, black pepper, slowly cooked mushroom, and so much more. So layered and complex, this is great now with a couple of decades of good drinking ahead. My WotN in a great lineup.
Probably my fav of the 11/12/14 flight. Opulent black cherry aromas with spice aplenty. Similar approach, softer middle, then a bigger finish. Lots to enjoy now, but still some further upside. My first time tasting this vintage.
Even though the youngest in this 11/12/14 flight, this almost seemed the oldest. Bottle had been open ~12 hours, with 5 in a decanter, and maybe that didn't help. but still charming and meaty with plenty of braised meat spice.
Alongside the 2016, these are two brilliant wines. Open 13 hours, 5 in decanter. That airtime might have hurt the 214, but only helped here. So much here, begrudgingly showing its glory, but a clear powerhouse that goes on and on and on. This will reward another decade+ in the cellar, with 2033-2053 a good estimate for its peak, with great potential, while still good now.
Alongside the 2013, these are two brilliant wines. Open 8 hours, half in a decanter. Enchanting aromas demand your attention, then a real powerhouse on the palate that tells you where this is heading. Not close to its peak, even though great already now.
Popped-and-poured. Winsome aromas with charming palate maintaining enough lingering fruit to remain very interesting. Very depth to start, this was far less interesting 20 minutes later.

2010 Delas Frères St. Joseph Cuvée Francois de Tournon 90 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, St. Joseph
Lots of powerful fruit and good spice, just much more firm and tannic than I'd consider ideal at this age from such a well balanced vintage.

2012 Domaine Vincent Paris Cornas Granit 60 89 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
Good richness but the fruit seems slightly candied and nearly sweet. Dense, powerful, just not quite showing the harmony and balance I'd prefer.

Intensely perfumed, just too much for me. Very good weight and length, with lots here if Traminer is your thing.
