  Super grapey, floral, candy floss, a little sulphur. Juicy, clean, slight petillance, a little texture, odd dry, again grapey, slight musky almost, pleasant.

• 2010 Domaine Rossignol Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin

  Medium minus intensity aromas shows red berry and sweet spice time and a gentle decant helped this open to show cherry, jubey, pretty notes, very slight volatile underpin and some earthy notes. Juicy, savoury, textured burr, the fruit is a little muted but this is lovely none the less - a little strawberry and raspberry joins the cherry.

  Savoury, slight struck match reductiveness, fresh, rocky minerality, slight dilute black fruits. Medium plus intensity acidity, slight more red hued fruit on the palate, talc textured burr is quite mineral in quality. Nice.

  Kerosene, muted lime, red and green apple, very slight apricot, sweet spice. Juicy, fleshy, slight waxy textured, similar flavour profile. lovely with smoked mackerel pate

  Medium minus intensity aromas of struck flint, slight herbaceous underpin, slight gooseberry…simple nose. Medium plus intensity acidity, a little leesy textured, muted fruit; shows a little gooseberry, quite subtle.

  Meaty, savoury, slightly oxidised, smidge of volatility, Brett, leather, black fruits. Juicy, bretty, black hued fruits; savoury, textured burr, quite funky. Woof.

  Slight reductive, smoked bacon, struck match, slight lemon. Juicy, lightweight fruit, citrus notes, a little textured, fleshy, simple. Yum.

  A little lemon, savoury a little sulphur, slight meaty underpin. On the palate, slightly bitter, alcohol warmth is slightly intrusive, waxy textured. Muted fruit, Hmm.

  Honey, apricot, obvious botrytised notes, a little funky volatility; slight wood glue. Medium plus intensity acidity is juicy, slight green apple notes offsets lusciously, sweet sugar levels, apricot, nice.

  From half bottle. Wood glue, marzipan, a little volatility, very pear fruit. Juicy acdity lends freshness, toffee, a little apple, sweet though it finishes a touch bitter. Hmm.

A nice time...wines were okay...Hmm
