Flight 1 - Sparkling flight (1 Note)

  • 2005 Château de Passavant Crémant de Loire 88 Points

France, Loire Valley, Crémant de Loire

Light straw yellow. Some flower aromas at first but it quickly turns to red, meaty apples and ryebreed. Small bubbles that has a fine length. In the mouth it is robst and masculine, with red apples, a tight acidity and some bitterness on the midpalate and finish.

  • 2003 Lucien Crochet Sancerre Cuvée Prestige 92 Points

Light yellow color, looking a bit hazy due to particles in the wine. Smoke and wine gum on the nose, but with some air it becomes more refined and notes of yellow fruit and grilled mushrooms pops up. Over the palate it has fat yellow fruit, mirabelle and melon, and a note of oak over the midpalate. Good length, ending in a dry finish.

Light straw yellow color. Striking nose with cat's pee, gooseberry and elder flower, but very clean cut. On the palate it has striking vegetable notes and gooseberry. Good length with some lemon and flint on the finish. The lively fruit acidity is mouth watering. The sauvignon blanc fruit is clearly expressed here, with crystal clean fruit.

  • 1999 Ferme de la Sansonnière (Mark Angeli) Les Vieilles Vignes des Blanderies 94 Points

France, Loire Valley, Vin de France

Light amber color. Aromas of apricot, figs and brown sugar. On the palate it has dried fruit and feels somewhat sweet, like a bit of caramelised fruit. Notes of apricot, baked figs and some flowers. Very clean in the fruit taste, and it hangs for a good while on the palate. It has a oxidated character going through the color, nose and taste, but it actually suits the wine.

  • 2003 Clos Rougeard (Foucault) Saumur-Champigny Le Bourg 95 Points

    France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Saumur-Champigny

Dark red color. Delicious and intense aromas of cherry, milk chocolate and cream caramel. Stunning on the palate feels like extremely smooth, silky velvet, the lively tannins at the end almost went unnoticed. Elegant and very clean red fruit, strawberry and cherry. On the midpalate it has cream caramel and milk chocolate, that hangs for a good period over the finish. Perfect balance between the elegance, smooth feel and intensity of the fruit. Simply amazing.
