Interesting to taste. Notes of cherries, caramel, and what I can only describe as chocolate-covered pretzels.

Another interesting wine to taste. Notes of varnish, jalepeno peppers, cherry, and cedar. Surprisingly fresh and quite enjoyable. 87-88 points.

I did not get a good look at the label, so I have no idea whether the wine we tasted was this one or the Reserve Cask. In any case, this wine showed much better than I expected. Mature aromas of cassis, cedar, leather, and a bit or furniture polish (not Pledge). Cherry and asian spice notes on the palate make this wine both intriguing and delightful to drink.

A very opulent wine with notes of ripe blackberries, plums, and melted chocolate. 90-91 points.

Gorgeous notes of sour cherries, cranberries, tree bark, and hard spices. Zesty acidity and drinking at its best right now. My #1 WOTN. 92-93 points.

I suspect that this bottle may have suffered from heat damage as the nose displayed a sour tomato juice/V8 aroma and the palate was very tart.

Luxuriant aromas of ripe dark cherries, wet earth, lava rock, and cedar. Full on the palate, with rich notes of dark cherries, chocolate ganache, brown spices, and a kiss of mint. While not a timid wine, I found it quite balanced, with nice acidity and good structure. My #2 WOTN. 91-92 points.

I feel this wine needs more time to allow the Cab Franc to fully integrate into the wine. As of right now, it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. Notes of green stems, earth, and cassis. 88-89 points.

Slightly underdeveloped aromas of green stems, black currant, and mint. Similarly underdeveloped on the palate, with vegetal notes along with some cassis, graphite, and herbs.

Savory notes of grilled meats, plums, and dark chocolate. With extended aeration, some red fruits begin to peak through to give the wine an added layer of complexity. A dash of white pepper on the finish. Very nice.

Rich notes of ripe plums, exotic spices, and hoisin. Lively and tangy on the palate, but finishes rather short. 88-89 points.

This wine showed considerably better than the last time I tried it (I gave it 85 points back then). Delicate and refined notes of raspberries, strawberries, pomegranate, and clay. Nice acidity and good overall balance.

Notes of game, garrigue, bramble, pepper and herbs. A simple, earthy wine that works better with food than on its own.

Free wine excepted, this may have been the QPR winner of the evening. Notes of blackberries, bramble, cocoa powder, and spice. A touch of alcoholic warmth on the finish.

Tasted from two bottles with consistent notes. Notes of cherry, plum skin, and crushed rocks. Flavors seem a bit underdeveloped and simple. I am a huge fan of Ed Kurtman's wines, and while not inoffensive in any way, I feel it was not up the level of other vintages of this wine.

A really lovely wine. Notes of honey, baked apples, bees wax, walnuts, and graham crackers. Dances lightly upon the palate with good acidity.
