An opportunity to look at a global selection of Pinot Noirs...
Sweet spice, cedar, cherry, savoury, touch of meaty wild ferment and a smidge of fruit tea. Juicy, fleshy, muted red hued fruits, tight tannins have a slightly woody burr touch of alcohol warmth on the finish. Meh

Quite closed initially but, with a shake, whole bunch lends a touch of herbaceousness - a bit 2004 crushed insects - over savoury spice, concentrated black hued fruits and plenty of polished oak. Juicy with medium plus intensity acidity, slightly peppery spice, plenty of woody tannins all over the dark cherry fruit. Out of whack. Time should help but fairly meh at the mo'

slightly unripe baked dark hued fruits; berries; cherries, sweet spice. Like the Pegasus Bay it has a little meaty wild ferment note, polished oak. Juicy, fleshy, lightweight cherry backed by oaky tannins. Like the Escarpment Kupe I find this out of whack but with more fruit to support the structure. Again time should help but <shrugs>

Funky, gamey initially, sweet spice, meaty, muted fruit shows a little dark cherry. Similarly funky on the palate, juicy, tannic grip is tight, fruit present but, as per the nose, a little muted. Hmm.

Medium minus intensity aromas of muted cherry fruit, rhubarb, touch of sweet spice. Juicy, fleshy, slightly sweet spice, muted cherry and red berry, grapey tannins, medium plus length, non intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish, simple. Okay.

slightly dusty, smoky (it's either smoke taint of whole bunch; suspecting the former), a little jubey cherry fruit, pretty nose. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, cherry, red berry fruit, a little dilute, softly textured tannins, lightweight, pretty.

Medium minus intensity aromas of cherry, slight struck match, minerality, a little savoury underpin, whole bunch ashiness with time. Juicy, slightly sour, concentrated red fruits, a little ashy whole bunch, tight chewy slightly coarsely textured tannins are drying Time may help but it's a bit hmm for me

Touch of fruit tea, slightly reductive notes that dissipate with agitation, cherry, slight cranberry, raspberry, strawberry; quite fresh fruit compote, medium plus intensity a acidity, slightly sour, fresh red fruit compote again, lightweight, talc textured tannins insinuate themselves on the palate. Young, good.

Quite fruit cordial notes show red berry' strawberry, a little raspberry and savoury spice, pretty floral top notes, a little toasted note here as well. Juicy, spicy red fruits, a little toasty textured burr, raspberry over strawberry, simple. Okay.

Reductive, bacon fat, sweet spice, slightly meaty wild ferment, chalky minerality, red cherry fruit. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, red cherry fruit, touch of bitterness to the slightly tight floury textured tannins. Non-intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish. Hmm

Meaty, savoury, a little reticent initially, with agitation shows pretty black cherry fruit, sweet spice. Medium plus intensity acidity, woody textured tannins are drying, slightly sour cherry fruit, sweet spice, it's a little bitter on the finish. Hmm.

Medium plus intensity aromas are meaty with whole bunch and wild ferment, a little gamey and funky, red tends to blackberry fruit backed by plentiful spice with a little fruit tea note. Juicy tending to medium plus intensity acidity, perhaps a smidge of residual sugar here, again red tends to black fruit with sweet spice in support, drying, coarse silk tannins, long. Hmm

Medium minus intensity aromas of raspberry, slight cherry and red currant, pretty sweet spice and floral notes. In the mouth it's juicy with slightly sour red hued fruits; cranberry, fruit tea, slightly woody and drying chalky textured tannins dry out the finish. Fruit just about persists...Hmm

Red berry fruit, sweet spice, like the Liger this is quite pretty but with a little iron and blood as well. Juicy, medium plus intensity strawberry and raspberry, plenty of tannic grip is drying but supports rather than dominates the fruit. Long. Good.

Medium minus intensity aromas of savoury dark hued fruits, a little spice and minerality, earthy notes, slightly sour blackberry fruit, tight, slightly grainy textured tannic grip is drying, it's a little bit lacking in balance for me…Time may help.

A little bacon fat, polished oak shows as a touch of caramel, black hued fruits; berries, a little jubey not and sweet spice. Juicy, fleshy, jubey, blackberries, polished oak, tight textured woody tannins are in support, long, balanced. Excellent.

Muted sweet spice, dark hued fruit tends to red, a little gamey note, quite simple despite being premier cru, touch of cherry, cream. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, quite sour red fruit, very tannic. I'd say time but it probably doesn't have the stuffing to last...Hmm

Slight sour smelling red fruits, leathery notes, Autumn berries and a touch of Brettanomyces; quite funky. Juicy, Bretty, gamey, slightly sour red fruit, chalky tannins are drying. Nah.

Medium plus intensity aromas of black cherry, plums, earthy notes, touches of sweet spice, a little mineral note and a touch of gameyness. Juicy, red and black fruit, again a little sourness, woody, chalky tannins prove tight, alcohol warmth intrudes slight on the finish, too young but also a little out of whack. not for me.

Aromas of whole bunch((?), fresh red hued fruit - raspberries, a little salinity, slightly gamey notes as well as a little yeasty underpin. Medium plus intensity acidity, sour red fruits, chalky, drying tannins, finishes bitter. Ugh

Like the Montinore this is quite red fruited, cranberry, raspberry, earthy with a touch of volatile acidity. Medium plus intensity acidity, touch of sweet and sour cranberry, tends to red currant, that volatility translates to the palate with grainy drying tannins in support. Not very nice

Slightly meaty, savoury, gamey, almost a touch of horse sweat and shit, black hued fruits with agitation prove slightly jubey. Juicy, black fruits with plenty of tannic grip in support, ashy notes, cream and that slightly horsey note. Hmm.

Oof! Polished oak in charge here, sweet spice, caramel, slight coconut and vanilla in support, muted dark hued fruits grow with time. Juicy, surprisingly there is slightly sour fruit which is married to plentiful sweet oak spice. Time to settle but not really for me

Black hued fruits, perhaps a little whole bunch, savoury spice, wild ferment funkiness with time. Juicy, slightly sour black fruits, plentiful drying tannins, perhaps lacks a little generosity and finishes with a note of sourness that strays to the volatile.

A little struck match, black hued fruits; black berry, plenty of spice and meaty underpin, jubey notes as well. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, plentiful drying slightly woody tannins, black hued fruits. Alcohol warmth intrudes slightly on the finish. Hmm, it's a little bit out of whack in the mouth...perhaps time will help

Savoury, meaty, funky wild ferment, a little wood glue, cranberry over blackberry fruit, sweet oaky spice. Juicy, savoury, tight, slightly bitter tannins detract from the slightly jubey and pretty black hued fruits. Hmm. Time

Polished oak and dark hued fruits, slight cream, with agitation this shows a little volatile acidity. Juicy, plentiful woody tannins, dry out the palate, black hued fruits in support, a little disappointing compared to my last tasting. Hmm

Served blind
light cherry and slightly sour red berry fruit, clean, simple, sour, tannic burr, a little sweet and sour fruit with alcohol warmth on the finish. Meh.
I got to Pinot, Yarra Valley but messed up the vintage
