    Medium intensity, ripe citrus and quince, citrus peel, earthy, shows depth, needs time.
    Palate again medium intensity, same flavour profile, ripe citrus and quince, spicy, mineral, warmth, lemon preserve, dry herbs, hay, like a warm summer mid day, medium finish. Interesting

  • 2020 Calabretta Etna Rosato

    Italy, Sicily, Etna DOC

    Nerello mascalese. Light cherry red color, low to med intensity, ripe red cherry and strawberry, floral notes, a few heavier notes as well.
    Palate shows sour cherry, red cherry, elevated acidity, mineral, thin to med body, a few tannins, medium finish. A wine for food rather than on its own

  • NV Calabretta Sicilia Cala Cala

    Low to med intensity. red fresh cherry & currants, a touch earthy, a strange dusty road/cement note, a bit gamey way in the back
    Palate showing medium body, medium to high acidity, not many but drying tannins, warmth, oxidative notes, off putting for me, underripe red cherry

    The wine shows fresh red fruit, cherry, currant, thin nutty layer, fresh, light, ethereal, a touch floral, sour cherry. Very smooth palate, silky tannins, med acidity, fresh cherry & berry, nicely balanced, medium body and finish.
    Nice everyday wine

    Very interesting in the nose, welcoming, ethereal, nice combination of ripe red fruit, sour cherry, pot pouri, a touch leather, a few spicy notes, clove, carnation
    Palate with nice fruit again, a bit warm, medium to high acidity, med tannins, sour cherry, red cherry, red currants, a touch on the leaner side though, med finish. Needs time

    Palate with the same flavor profile, ripe fruit, red fruit, cherry, currant, med tannins but drying, med acidity, med to long finish. A wine for food as it is, a bit warm, earthy, a few balsamic notes

    The wine shows garnet color.
    The wine shows ripe do dried red currant, red cherry, earthy, olive, tomato paste, warmth (13.50%) but not heat, a touch floral, thin oak/spicy frame, cinnamon and nutmeg
    In the palate, the wine shows elegance, ripe fruit, red fruit, sweet spice, nice oak frame, a touch of sweetness, vanilla, medium body, medium acidity, med spicy finish
    Again a touch of sunny/warmth profile, showing beautiful evolution

    The wine shows bright golden color.
    In the nose, the wine shows high intensity, ripe quince, lemon preserve, lemon peel, orange peel, highly oxidative notes, a touch smoky, lemon leaves.
    In palate, the wine shows high intensity, high acidity, citrus, lemon, med to full body, lemon, quince, pineapple, a bit gamey, savoury in the nose but spicier in palate, fresh/underripe fruit, long finish
    The wine is still unbelievably fresh with insane minerality

    The wine shows density in the nose, minerality, citrus notes, salty, lemon leaf, lemon, stony, quince, a touch linear at this point, closed
    Palate very salty, ripe citrus and stone fruit, high acidity, med to full body, long finish.
    This feels closed, needs time to open up, yeast notes, apple notes, pear, a touch cider-y (bright, zesty, yeast)

    Made from Cinsault. The wine shows medium intensity, ripe red cherry and currant, floral notes, a touch earthy, oaky and spicy, almost fake or very "technical" profile, like a perfume
    The palate holds the same profile, high acidity, red currant and cherry, medium body, SO2 spikes, reductive, medium finish

    Palate is better than the nose despite showing same profile, more fruit, again reductive, citrus, quince like acidity, tight, medium body, high acidity, toasty, harsh as it is, long finish. Needs time

    Palace very juicy, toasty, very oaky, high acidity,inky, black cherries, angular tannins, prines, black berries, tannins from the oak too, long finish. Lacks depth and complexity, plus its too fresh
