France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru
9. Most powerful wine of the day. Stylistically quite different than her post 14/15 wine. The nose of blackberry, spiced plum and potpourri, Gamey notes can be found on the nose and palate. Very structured and well-made, yet still prefer her newer wine.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru
A ripe yet surprisingly elegant glass. The ethereal nose of cherry and fresh-cut flowers. Meaty with a seamless, velvety mouthfeel. Complex and lifted. Gorgeous. Second favorite wine of the night
2018 Cecile Tremblay Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes 93 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
Pretty primary. Some vanilla with lots of spices and floral notes. Even though the tannin still needs time to soften up, it’s already fine-grained.

2018 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée 91 Points

Much darker than Tremblay 16 Vosne VV, focused palate. However, the substance is there. Still needs at least 3 or more years.
